I'm getting really tired off this same old story..... For once and for all....IT'S NOT INFECTED!!!!! It's just the the exe file whose read as a virus with all v-scanner..so if you don't trust the person who created this great file ......then DON'T Download it and stop bugging around with this same old shit cause some poeple getting realy sick en tired from this same old story....... so it's NOT infected and if you'r not trused this file... stop bugging with this same old shit ....and read the post of the creator himself a couple posts below...... This file is also posted a couple months ago at 3DCC and it's a flashback for the most of us !!!!! TBK: your the man.....and don't let them make ya NUTS DEFxS
People shouldn't rag on someone for being nervous about a file that appears infected. If you have ever lost everything you have been working on for 12 hours because some jerk decided he was bored and would write a virus to delete all your exe or whatever...then you would be paranoid too. If you use an installer that appears to be virus infected then be prepared for this reaction. Don't be lame about it by taking it out on people who pay attention to their virus programs. Lay off the guy...he was just trying to warn people. If I were in charge of the freestuff area I would impress upon the creator of the model that he needs to re-package it, and then you wouldn't see this everytime someone downloads it who may not have seen the previous posts about it. Sheeesh! Don't be so damn defensive about it defxs. I won't even download it because I don't want to take a chance, and no matter what you say about it, I don't know you from spit, so why would I trust your word over the virus scanner? Just re-package it and be done with it. Marque Marque
The free stuff area is just a place for Renderosity members to link to the free downloads on their own site. Renderosity at no-point hosts or tests these files. While I will generally trust something I downloaded from a name I know well from the community, you should be suspicious of any file you download on the internet, especially if it is coming from an individual rather than a well-known company. If anyone sees any sign of a virus in any of the files, they should not be afraid to post about it here. If it's a false alarm, no harm done. But if it is a virus, the quicker everyone knows about it, the less it will spread and the less damage it will do.
Todo, Don't let someone who is lame stop you from speaking out if you see something. I would hope that is you suspect a virus you will continue to let us know. It seems that some people feel threatened by the fact that the installer they are using has problems and they either don't know how to fix it or they just refuse and they can't take the heat when someone thinks it's a virus. Don't let that stop you. I for one appreciate it if someone thinks there is a virus, it makes me more careful. Marque
Todo, consider this- Not everyone reads EVERY thread here, so don't feel bad at all. One person may not have read the other "warning" threads on this, and saw yours, read it and saw the warning for the first time. Therefore, by posting the warning you did GOOD, not harm. Post things. Don't go into a shell. I'd rather see a sheep cry wolf than have the wolf actually get me.
I trusted him and told my protecter to overlook it. All the while crossing my fingers and hoping I wouldn't have to reinstall my harddrive. After a LONG while no problems But just think about this. Wouldn't that be a more effective way of infecting a computer by telling people not to worry that's just part of the programing?
OK! im the creator of this installer...this warning even apears on my computer, but im not worryed about..cause my puter is clean, and i have to be a real dummy ,when i try to infect myself :)the problem with some anti vir program is, they mostly search for silly little characteristicas...like..2 joined exe files...u can join 2 exe files together to 1 exe.. and some anti vir programs searching for those exe files, cause sometimes is the second exe a backdoor trojan..like subseven.. in this case the tbk predator is the first exe file the main archive, and the second a stand alone philipsvideo player.. if u worry about the exe file, why didnt u download the zipped version..(didnt u know, that u can infect even a zip file?) believe me,"IF" i want to infect a puter,im sure i choose a method that is not as easy to detect... and u have to be a real dummy,if u infect any freestuff, with your email adress on it :) dont worry bout that, just relax, and be glad of this realy cool stuff, koen given away
yeah thx :) that was my main idea, to create a simple installer, for those ppls who dont want to dragging around,or dont know how to use the directorys in a zip file.. cause this charecter is extreme professionell,it raises itself from the other freestuff..and a extraordinaire chara needs this cool feature i think :)
