Subject: Distortion in FireFly render in P6

Just got P6 and am trying to figure out why this FireFly render (with the "Auto" quality settings on "Final") has distortions in the textures (stray lines and divets on the wall, floor, catsuit, and skin). When I render the same scene in P6 using the P4 engine instead of FireFly, the distortions go away. (see next post--don't know how to attach two files in one message)

Thanks for the input.

reduce your bucket size

thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. (Carlyle)

bucket size isnt an option in auto settings. personaly i'd not use autosettings except for some preliminary renders. I dont use texture filtering, and if i dont have need for raytrace auto settings don't give the option of not using it. In final, the max texture sizes are far larger than i need. when you ready for a final render, your better off with manual settings.

A bug that still isn't fixed since Poser5.Disable Displacement Maps -This might help.

Try increasing the displacement bounds of the objects in question (btw, do they have displacement maps attached?). Something like 0.2 should be sufficient already.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll try these things (after work) today and see what happens.
