Hi Esther, The regular Carrara installation installs a bunch items to the Browser,I install things from the content cd as I need them to the browser of just to the file I am working on. It is nice just to know what is all on the content cd ,so I would just look over all the objects that are there. The browser is like a catalogue of items you can re-use in your scenes and is accessed by pressing Ctrl+B, a tray should open with different types of Objects,Shaders, effects, modifiers etc that you can Drag onto objects or into the scene. Look at pg 44-47 in the C4 manual on how to manage the browser. Carrara 4 doesn't have a Drop object feature like Bryce, you can use Collision detection(see image) to help placing objects on other objects. In C5 the replicators place the instances automatically on the terrain using the Hotpoint of the object as a reference point. Did you check out the quick start tutorials that come with Carrara , they should help you get up to speed. Let us know if you have any more questions. Mike

Hey Esther, So , you bought the Toon Pro plugin from Digital Carvers guild then. Just a question, did you download the C4 version of this plugin, he does have a C5 version out which probably wont work with C4 and if you are using that one it may cause problems. Eric is very good with responding to questions like this. Mike

Yes, got it! But I did download the C4 version. Well I took your advice and have written to Eric. thanks. Well I've had quite a few error messages in carrara. Is this something common with this proggie or is it me do you think? Love esther

No , I get very few error messages when using Carrara and Eric answers alot of the questions here at renderosity too.Although I know he is relocating sometime soon from one house to another . A couple of questions. - What is your computer system , I think the Mac isn't quite as stable at the windows version. - can you use Toon Pro at all , is it in the right Carrara/extensions directory? - when do you get your error messages .The "nil pointer error" you had I think means Carrara is looking for something but that something is not there. - I am guessing you imported a file, if so what type of file was it. You seem to have alot of shaders (340) in this file.

HI - ERIC THINKS I HAVE THe PC version installed and not the macversion of toonpro so I'm trying again, and he also suggested I update to the latest carrarapro version so I'm just trying all that now. He's been great. Love esther
