Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 02 7:25 pm)
Havent been paid for anything yet, but have used Poser extensively for work I donated to various non-profits for brochures, poster, powerpoint slide presentations. Poser can be useful in many ways if you think laterally. For a slide presentation during a recent symphony, I imported a photograph of two kids playing the cello. I then put it into Poser as a "background". Using the sketch designer I then sampled the sketching at differient times along the process, exporting each stage as a jpg. Run together, they produced a very good animated impression of a painting from blank to finished and finally fading to the photograph. Scarab
Using Poser for commercial work? << I'm making heavy use of Poser in an "interactive textbook" I'm writing. Our old friend Default Casual Female has been deputized as an instructor, adding life to some scientific topics that would otherwise be hopelessly dull. I mainly use a kind of flip-card animation with a sequence of BMPs, because I generally need to control the movements in ways that aren't available with AVIs. The students using the program are strongly encouraged to duplicate the experiments after D.C.F. shows how to do it. ......ockham

Just got my first proffesional Poser gig creating a character for use in both a print project and on the web, if everything goes as planned I just may be able to quit my current job and work with 3D full time. From what I've been seeing lately it seems like media houses and all kinds of internet companies are starting to realize that 3D is'nt just for multi-million dollar movies and hi-tech engineering.
