I had seen Dick Van Dyke at Siggraph 2004 & a little at 2005, and had heard that not only is one of his hobbies making 3D art, but he wanted to help create some sort of commercial CGI venture, cool that it happened. At Siggraph 2004 they (Lightwave) showed off animations of Dick Van Dyke's 3D character on a huge screen. I didn't get to meet him first hand, but after seeing him in movies and shows ALL my life, I was a little star-struck while watching him talk to the crowd, (while his 3D character did his thing on the screen behind).

It definitely looks like him!From the "Website" link above, is "Behind the Scenes". Read about how it all came about there, and what Dick Van Dyke and DAZ did to make the story, it explains all;

"If you do not reside in the United States or if for any other reason you do not qualify for a free subscription, please CLICK HERE." Am I reading that right that the digital version is free to canadians (and I presume USians) but not to anyone else. Guess it costs a lot more to make those electrons go to australia than to alaska....

Do you mean will Studio be free forever? Don't know. But, its the perfect piece of freeware to get 3D artists to use/purchase their retail figures. I believe they will keep at least some level of Studio free forever. I would. AS
