Hello i'm still quite new 'round here so sorry if this is posted in the wrong place!!! i was wondering how strictly i would have to follow the title of the "3d" part of the contest as it says it has to incoporate past, present and future!!!! but the recent "dawn of the dark" contest was won by images that did not incoporate the title!!!! i'm not asking this sarcasticly or trying to have a pop at the winners of that contest!! but would like to have it clearly stated if it has to incorporate past, present and future to stand a chance of winning!!!!! or whether any seasonal-type (christmas)picture has a chance of winning!!!!! thanks for any answer to my question!!!! Vince.

I think it would have to depend on what your perception of the title meant!!! many people with the the Dawn of the Dark I think were expecting images featuring Dawn as in the sunshine start of the day term rather than the "start" of something which Dawn of also means. It depends on what it actually says to you, as every single persons view of this will be different I can't see how they can judge on title, I think it's mainly an idea from where to start from, maybe to inspire ideas. Past, Present and Future could be linked to different generations, timelines, I can think of several funny ideas to do with the word present for instance, Changes in tradition, Scrouges Ghosts....these are ideas that could all be viewed as a perception of past, present and future and thats off the top of my head. It's very hard to nail down exactley what constitutes as incorporating such titles when they are fairly vaugue to start with. Hopefully you'll get a judge or contest co-ordinater to clarify this for you though for your own piece of mind :) Ele

Hi there,

I would like to help clarify the requirements of the theme.

The theme of the contest is "Holiday Greetings from the Past, Present & Future"

The term "Holiday" may reflect any November and December Holiday that is meaningful to the artist.

The holiday list includes:
Ramadan -- October 4 to November 3
Eid al-Fitr -- November 4
Thanksgiving -- November 24
Hanukkah -- December 26 to January 2
Saint Nicholas Day -- December 6
Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe -- December 12
St. Lucia Day -- December 13
Yule (Winter Solstice) -- December 21
Christmas -- December 25
Boxing Day -- December 26
Kwanzaa -- December 26 to January 1
Omisoka -- December 31
New Year's Eve -- December 31
(My apologies in advance if I have missed any November & December holidays that should be included in this list

The entries MUST contain at least one (or more) element of past, present or future. It is suggested that they contain all 3.

Best of luck to you all,
LillianH
