Subject: Guns...a lot of free guns?

Hellwolve ( ) posted Wed, 09 November 2005 at 11:55 AM ยท edited Mon, 13 January 2025 at 1:49 AM

My apologies upfront for (ab)using such a worn-out quote in the title, but it covers the load of this message quite nicely: I'm looking for free modern and futuristic firearms for Poser 5.

I've got the ones from Daz3d (both the modern & western packs) and the ones I deem to be the best from Renderosity, so I'm more looking for people's personal sites which have got cool stuff, as those won't easily show up on an Google search, or so I've found.

Any and all pointers towards cool stuff are appreciated :-)

Try there. Enter the search word that you want IE: gun, or the type of gun you are looking for, and you will find sites that have that item in it's downloads. I found 73 links when I entered "gun", but not all were for guns. Some had "gun" as part of the word.

Acadia and pakled, thanks for the replies :-) Mystic Nights seems to be really handy compared to Google, as it's specialized.

Pakled, thanks for the names. I'll PM my email addy through the messaging system of Renderosity in a bit; could you mail me that P-90 and perhaps instructions to find the stuff of the people you've mentioned to me?

And Don, I specificly asked for free guns because I'm short on cash. Thanks for the link, though, perhaps I'll buy that when my shipment of money comes in ;-)

any high quality conforming holsters? Major Cache at DAZ3D has one that looks great but I don't want to spend $30 on just the holster when I don't need the rest. Questor has great props but more towards the western genre and hard to conform to a figure...especially for animating.

Hi, you need the mock gun here at renderosity in the MP - makes both futureistic and normal and it's customizable and you can resize the gun to fit your figure and pose. Well the best hand gun holster I've found, is using the cop belt from daz with the Men In Uniform from poser pros which has new textures and morphs for the holster. Love esther PS the daz desert soldier holster is good too but you need to buy the whole kit.

I supose I'll need to repeat myself...I hope I don't come over all too rude, but I specificly asked for FREE guns. So, please, don't tease me by replying; every time I get an email about this thread, I hope there's a link to something cool, and when there's not, that's just cruel ;-)

ISTR Mask-da had a few on his site (URL unknown).

estherau ( ) posted Wed, 09 November 2005 at 6:12 PM

Mask-da site was a great site - I think all realistic and not futurisitic though and I also think the site closed but I'm not 100% certain. Love esther

any high quality conforming holsters?

For which figures, Garic?

V2, M2, Steph1 : shoulder holsters by billy-t, from the Auto Hand Gun Set

V3 : shoulder holster by TheMadPainter, shadownet, and ynsaen, from the Danger package

V3 : thigh holster/utility harness by shadownet and TheMadPainter, from the ActionJunction WetSet

Steph3 : thigh holsters by Blackhearted and Rio, from the Irina Adventuress package

AnimeDoll, MayaDoll : thigh holsters by 3dtrue, from the AnimeDoll MayaDoll Raiding Outfit

every time I get an email about this thread, I hope there's a link to something cool ....

And just so it won't be a total loss for Hellwolve ....

Visit AniMotions and check the gaming section in Free Stuff. You'll find a small arsenal in the Project Lara package.

Vanishing Point has numerous cinematic sci-fi weapons, including the pulse rifle and smartgun from Aliens, and various handguns/rifles from Galactica, Babylon 5, Buck Rogers, and Star Wars.

Sorry, Garic ... I could also have recommended the Gunslinger gunbelts for David and Stephanie 3, over at DAZ. They're in the Platinum Club, so they're only $1.99 each. But no Michael version, as yet.

And of course, billy-t also has those new machine-gun holsters for his V3 and Aiko3 bodysuits.

Don't know if Mystic's list has these Japanese sites. http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley/3521/ Has some untextured models (not sure what format). http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~oedo_s/ (On the downloads page select category 12 from the left hand list for som pages of military models, including a few nice WWII guns like this Type 96 LMG). Mask-da's site is still around but no more free guns that I see.

Frence computer research institute--has a number of models, untextured, in a variety of formats--most are fairly low poly but smoother than they look in the preview images--may do for distant shots. Note that someone once raised questions about the source of some of the models here.
