Subject: What happened to the gallery images?

SomethingWicked ( ) posted Sat, 12 November 2005 at 1:38 PM · edited Sun, 29 December 2024 at 4:32 AM

I just uploaded an image and both the pic and thumb are showing up with the dreaded missing picture "X". It also happened to several images before and after mine. Any idea what's going on?

Yup, just got the same thing... think i'll wait on uploading. This site is getting so buggy lately. I don't know wether its got anything to do with the ancient software or the fact that the site has got so... cumbersome. Anyway, hope they sort it soon. Edited to add: This message took 1 min and 3 seconds to appear... another gripe that is becoming more than slightly annoying of late. Jack

Yea the thumbnail on most all the images are not showing up. If I right click on the thumbnail box and pick view image I get a page that says this here... Object not found! Same problem over here, although some (very few) thumbs do show up (for example 'House' by dpwchuck). Strange thing is that sometimes I am able to see the artwork although the thumb is not visible, and the other way round (I can't see the picture of dpwchuck). Agree with lemur01 that things are not too well in the last week (had some days that everything was very, very s----l----o----w.) However, I hope that problems will be solved, because I'm a little addicted to this site!!

Thanks for the report. Looks like one of the servers was acting up. It was rebooted & things appear to be working better now. Tim

My images are still showing as an "x".

Yeah - unfortunately the problem was in the upload process so some thumbs were lost. Hopefully folks can edit those or re-upload. Tim

It wasn't just the thumbs. It was the main image for me. So, I reuploaded it and voila! It worked!

blacq_nyght_vampyre ( ) posted Sat, 12 November 2005 at 5:46 PM

It is still showing "X" on this end for both thumbs and images!!! Frustrating is putting it mildly..........

blacq_nyght_vampyre: Since other folks are seeing the images I would guess that your browser is not accepting the cookie from the site that enables viewing. If that's not the case, then your clock may be set wrong resulting in your cookie expiring prematurely. TC

Why would it not accept it after all the time I spend on here? I have not cleared my cookies nor have I changed any settings. BNV
