Subject: eBook art training product?

Hi,
Did a search here on "ebook" but didn't find an answer, sorry if this was already asked.

  1. I'm about to publish an instructional eBook for digital artists (beginner/intermediate level), in .pdf format, and need to know if such a product can be sold here.

  2. Also, would it be considered a:
"70%/30% Software Packages or Utility Programs" in terms of my selling cost, per the digital products guidelines?

  1. I'm using a Digital Rights Management (DRM) wrapper (.PDF eBook, inside .EXE DRM wrapper, inside .ZIP) that is an .EXE file format. According to the guidelines here, this will not install on a Mac. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks!

Thanks Clint, that answers my questions. Anyone know of a DRM method for Mac that is easy on customers (that is, easy to use)? TIA

Your welcome.. Supplying a .PDF file inside the ZIP will make the file usable by PC and MAC users. Just dont use the DRM. Just a thought. Clint

I use easy ebook compiler, its a browser based exe.

I downloaded their trial version compiler and liked it, but decided i needed PDF. Company called ZEON make an excellent PDF maker that's an add-in for Outlook and Word. Inexpensive and very works well for me - it's their "PDF Driver" product. I gotta say though that with 158 pages and over 80 images, i had to struggle to get the PDF under 9MB! Had to lower the visual quality a bit from the glorious results i was getting when the eBook was 1/2 done. And had to remove the embedded fonts. A Web calculator shows that my resulting 7MB ZIP downloads in 15 minutes at 56K. Hoping to be selling here very soon - exciting!!
