Most excellent my man...

Not to throw a wet blanket with technicalities, but the support structures for the engine nacelles do not look like they rotate. Is your shuttle doomed to only travel up and down? (Just stirring it 'cuz I can't model or texture anything like pidjy) NB (Off to a jealous funk. Maybe I'll harangue some Wings gurus...)

Gotta love it. When I mine gold in the asteroid belt, this is what I want to use. Nuke body, see the hydraulic pistons connected to the engine.

But those will rotate them against each other (thrust vectoring away from each side of the vessle and not in concert in one direction.... So if the fuselage is along the z axis, the nacelles need to rotate on the x axis...er, yeah.

Thanx all for your comments!.. so no the engines von't rotate.. but there will be some more motors at the back of the shuttle.. not as big as the four existing, those engine help the shuttle to get off the planetary attraction.. then the auxiliary engines vill gives the necesary power to go.. somewhere. and yes it will be free to download soon.

Great model, pidjy! Hope you took the critique with a very large grain (okay, block) of salt.

pumecobann ( ) posted Thu, 17 November 2005 at 5:41 PM

Like it! Certainly looks purpose-built and viable.

great work, how did you map those engines?

for some free stuff i made
and for almost daily fotos

Attached Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuttle-A

If you want to have a go at a simulation of a similar shuttle like this one (not in looks but in function) than you should try Orbiter and throw Shuttle-A around for a bit.

This shuttle has two rotating engine pods but when flying from the moon or in low earth orbit you don't need those, the two main engine and two lift engines are more than sufficient.

The simulator is a closed source project, but free to download.
