Carrara is trying to smooth the polygons. The simple fix is to open it in the Carrara Vertex Modeler, select all and choose Crease Edges from the selection pull down menu. Hexagon actually has the polys in the same place as shown in Carrara but they're not visible since it handles construction differently. (C5 is a much more similar to Hexagaon now but Hexagon is still a better modler) Mark

Ren_mem, Honestly, I haven't spent much time with the UV capabilities in Hexagon besides just creating shading domains that I texture in Carrara later. Hexagon does let you apply texture maps or checkers and scale and stretch UVs with the widget just like you move parts of the model in real time - very cool and useful. However, I'd have to say that it is easier to be precise with Carrara's UV mapping tools. After all, Hexagon is primarily a modeler. Mark
Thanks. I am going to checking out the demo and tryin silo now. Haven't been 100% thrilled w/ carrara uv mapping, my undertanding is that hasn't changed. Hex mentions uv and silo has some uv features. wings3d unwrap is cool.I am also checking out uv mapper pro. Just hate having so many diff tools.
No need to think outside the box....

I have been working on a project in Hexagon and I exported to a Carrara file. After opening it up in C4, the model had gone through some major changes. Is there anything that I am missing regarding this process. I created the model using box modeling.
Thanks
