They tend to bother me also in an odd way. There is a setting where you can limit their number, but yes, I wish there was a button right next to "the thingie" that would wipe them all away. You know what it is? When I have a series of botched renders in there, somehow I just want to blast them all away. I will say one thing....I find that slider comparison of renders immensely useful, a swell feature. For one thing, I can try different settlings and slide between them to see the quaitly difference in perfect revalation, to see if a more intense setting is worth the increased render time. I wish you could (optionally) have Poser time the render and display the time in hrs/min/sec on each saved render in the thingie. THAT would be useful. In fact, I think I'll start a new thread about that. ::::: Opera :::::

I'd settle for Poser telling me how long the render is going to take like Bryce does. At least then I'd know whether to sit and watch, grab a book, or go try to find a life while it renders.

Look in: c:Documents and SettingsusernameLocal SettingsTemp PoserRenderCache That's where they should be; the names should be the date and time the renders were done. You could create a shortcut to that directory then, when you're finished in Poser, open it and delete everything in it.

You don't need to clear out the render cache. Once you reach the limit set, Poser overwrites the old ones. They don't just keep piling up. You can leave them alone.

Attached you will find a script I wrote that gives a lot of info about your render. It includes the total running time of the render. Just run it, and it will render your scene from the script. Make sure you remove the .txt from the name!

Hope this helps!

destro - are you aware that if Auto render settings are on, all your options.SetRayTracing() etc will not work. With P6 SR2 You can get around this by doing a options.SetManual(1) to force manual render settings on.

"You don't need to clear out the render cache. Once you reach the limit set, Poser overwrites the old ones. They don't just keep piling up. You can leave them alone."

That's true but that's not what he asked. His original question was: "I was wondering how do you remove the old render that Poser 6 there something about it that annoys me ... i thought they would clear out after closing the program but they are still there"

Needing to clear the cache was never in question.

BTW: Thanks for the script!

I wasn't aware of that face_off. Thanks for the info! Gotcha Jackson, I was just saying... ;-) And you are welcome.

Here is an updated version of the script, with the change face_off suggested. Thanks man!
