THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Just a Note...

I'm working 12/7 these days, but will try to browse the forum and gallery as I can, that means behave...=) Also , a reminder to be polite and constructive when leaving comments in the gallery, don't just say something sucks, explain how it sucks, and how you would 'improve' it so that it doesn't suck anymore and promotes growth of the artist in future works......no personal attacks, no bashing, mashing, squashing, ripping, or anything of that nature. Negative feedback doesn't help anyone unless you give a viable creative solution or alternative that 'helps and improves'....

Wise words Zhann, but that's not quite enough. Explaining why you think something sucks and suggestions to improve it can also be taken the wrong way. The artist has to be responsive to suggestions. A suggestion, no matter in what good faith it was given, can always be taken the wrong way and upset the artist it was directed at and the rebuttal will upset the poster and it turns into a slagging match. So, yes, be polite and constructive, but also if you receive something you consider to be negative comments, read them carefully and try to understand the posters point of view before replying or acting in some other way. If you as an artist want people to see your point of view, you have to try and see the point of view of the person who made the comment. If you make a comment, think of the comment from the artists viewpoint. Comments can easily be taken out of context, the meaning can get twisted, the point of view lost. So be wary. Above all, remain calm.

You mean I can't say something like "This image is a paradox, it both sucks and blows at the same time" ?
