Hi all. I'm looking for some props relating to cash. You know, loose bills and stacks of bills. I'd prefer American Dollars, but anything would work. Anyone know of anything like that?

Daz has, in their free archive, a briefcase that comes with a $20 bill, a bank pack of 20's and a large stack of 20s. Also, you can UV map a rectangular .obj model and use scans of money (lots of them available on the internet) to make textures. To do that, use UV Mapper (go to the UV Mapper forum to see where to get the free version of it) and be sure to save it as both a "model" and a "temlate", then use an image editing program to copy and paste the scans onto the template. (when you UV Map it, if you "split" the front and back, then you can make your money props with separate front and back designs).

Flandall, If you need them, I've got scans of the higher denomination US bills (from the $50 up to $100,000), as well as old Silver Certificates going back to 1928.

That's interesting regarding the renders. I won't do any closeups of the money then, I'll just stick with the money from Daz's freebie site that MM mentioned. It's good and works from a distance, which is all I need. Thanks much.

Seems there are certain laws regarding such things. Ridiculous, when used in CG renders, but nevertheless...

Yeah, Uncle Sugar tends to get testy about such things. I think the value of the dollar makes it hardly worth counterfeiting anymore though. " Pretty ridiculous, no? I can see it if you are shown to have the capability of creating convincing counterfeits... But, I suspect their fear is that someone might create something to fool the dumbest society has to offer, hence, one law for all.

Actually, with todays digital technology, the barriers to entry for counterfeiting have been lowered considerably. High resolution scanners and color printers, image editing software... Consider this time of year with shopping madness you don't necessarily have to be an idiot to get burned. It's unrealistic to expect that people are going to have the degree of vigilance necessary to catch every phony bill, especially if it's smaller denominations like 5s and 10's. One law for all can be a hassle at times I suppose but it beats the alternative.
