Not too many people are familiar with the **Dystopia City Blocks** product series, so I thought I would put up some traditional advertising and a quick review of what this package is all about. - **Q: What is "Dystopia"?** *Dystopia is a modular sci-fi city prop created as a series of modular city blocks. It is intended to help fill in the gaps of your science fiction universe, by providing you with a ready made city.* - **Q: What applications support "Dystopia"?** *Dystopia was originally created in LightWave 3D (back in June 2000), so the native format is LWO. Any application that supports the 7.5 format can use the city blocks in the LWO format. A 3DS/OBJ conversion created by [billy-home](http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.ez?Who=billy-home) is available for some of the city block packages, with others under production. Any applications that can import either OBJ or 3DS format will be able to use these versions. The Enhanced Poser Edition, engineered by [Ajax](http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.ez?Who=Ajax) takes the geometry conversions and adds an unprecedented layer of functionality available in Poser, such as the unique switching geometry grid, which allows ease of placement of the city blocks. Poser 4.03 and above will be able to make use of this version.* - **Q: Where can I get "Dystopia"?** *If you aren't ready to make an investment in this product and you are not sure what this is all about, there are twenty (20) FREE city blocks available for download. Just do a search for "dystopia" in the Renderosity Free Stuff section. If you're ready to create an entire city and breathe life and adventure into Dystopia, it is available [here](http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?Who=Moebius87) in the Renderosity Marketplace.* - **Q: How much does it cost?** *Each commercial package contains ten (10) city blocks and a free bonus mesh (or meshes). The LWO version and the 3DS/OBJ versions are priced at US$ 24.00. The Enhanced Poser Edition is priced at US$ 30.00.* - **Q: Who uses "Dystopia"?** *Hundreds and hundreds of artists use Dystopia in their renders. Try doing a search for "dystopia" in the galleries here on Renderosity, and you might discover that even our [November 2005 AOM](http://www.renderosity.com/index.ez?viewStory=12113) [ czarnyrobert](http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=czarnyrobert) has used quite a few city blocks to supplement his amazing work. Dystopia has also been used in a few independent fan films, most notable of which are ["Revelations" by Panic Struck Productions](http://www.panicstruckpro.com/revelations/) and [The Blade Runner Chronicles](http://www.seansgallery.com/pages/brtrailer.htm). Don't be surprised to see Dystopia in the [Vue 5 Infinite Video Presentation](https://secure.e-onsoftware.com/Products/vue5infinite/). The freebie versions of Dystopia have been converted for use and are bundled into Vue 5 Infinite.*

Thank you all very much for your wonderful support, feedback and encouragement over the years. Cheers! M

Question: in the promo images fro 51-60 there are some canals, the images says they are from a "forthcomming product". Did this product ever come forth?

Hi Tyger_purr, No, the Dystopian Canals and Waterways package has not yet been released. There are quite a few of these unfinished products that are still in the works. Rest assured that they have not been forgotten. Cheers! M

Tyger_purr, The canals are one of my projects. I've put them on the shelf until I have time to fix a few things and add some extra features. Currently, my 3D priorities are to give Moe a fast turnaround on any sets of City Blocks he releases and to finish a certain project whose name begins with H that has caused me a lot of stress this year. Once the dreaded H project is finally out of my hair, I'll get back to things like the canals, the City Block integration kit/P6 add-on pack etc. Things have been complicated by a whole pile of work, family and health stuff that has been happening in my life this year. Maybe in a few months I'll have a bit more time for 3D. At the moment I've got a persistent case of RSI in my mouse hand and trying to do texturing with my other hand is just not working. The canals will get finished, I just don't know when. Hey, we finally got Stef's sky traffic out the other day, didn't we?

I'm not any any big hurry to see it, i was just making sure i didnt miss it. Take your time, do what you need to do. I'd rather have it 'right' than 'right now' :-) Patiently awaiting H Tyger

You should put it all in one box. Or all on one DVD.
