Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 02 5:01 am)
Aqsis! Hey, my husband is one of the programmers on that project. :-) As for the question, I have NO idea how a rib file saved in Poser would render. I can tell you that Poser doesn't save .obj files properly (it leaves out the transparencies!), and I dunno how well it handles other formats. One other thing to note is that with a rib file you don't really "open" it. It's more like you "send" it to the application to be rendered (I'm not explaining that very well, but I hope the point comes across). bonni

I've heard that Poser's .rib export is flawed or limited to some degree. I was able to render Poser .rib files with BMRT years ago when it was available. I think I had to convert the line endings in the file to Unix format but other than that no problem."Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance." - H. L. Mencken

Not any more :) With SR2, Poser 6 should also include transparencies in the exports.
