...i have no idea what that means though...but it sounded appropriate....

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIII GANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooooh, how nice it feels to be back!!! Rome was such an amazing town...city....whatever the difference is. innocent.gif Overwhelming actually seeing all those statues and monuments. I honestly got rather sick of photographing stone-people after a while so i started pointing my lens at real folks with an attempt to do a "People of Rome-series" ala Pascale...but my God i suck, LOL.

Anyway....i got up at 4am this morning after had 2 hours of sleep (some stupid dad had locked his 5 year old son out from the hotel room next to ours...and he screamed "papi papi" for over an over before daddy let him in...sigh...2am that was) and then 17 hours of travelling by plane, train and car i finally arrived home....to the coooold wintry sweden. And i couldnt wait to get on to see yall.

I havent looked through all the 400 shots i took...but the the thumb of this one caught my eye, so i thought i would give ya a little preview of what to come. Zoomed to the max with no tripod...im surprised it came out this "sharp"....guess im quite a steady guy even after a couple of birra and grappa...hehe.

Better crawl to bed now. drunk.gif

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Super shot Andreas - Welcome Back :)

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few,ย Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

I got the opportunity to see Rome in the early 70,s. At the time i had a 20 year old Ansco 35mm camera. I don't remember the model number. It looked ancient even then, lol.It had a large bellows that opened out of the front when you extended the lens for a shot (either 12 or 14 shots per roll). It had been my fathers and he gave it to me when i went into the service. I took it all over Europe for 4 years and was thrilled with it. I bought a very good Pentax shortly after the Rome trip. I think the Ansco is in a box somewhere here but i long ago gave the Pentax to someone who appreciated it more than me. All i have left to remind me of my trip to Rome is a few albums full of old faded prints. So far i have had no success with scanning them to try and save them. The quality is just beyond easy repair i fear. I hope you have better luck with long term storage. I assume digital techniques of today will insure that. I know you must have enjoyed the trip. It is a beautiful city and just chock full of history and life. I am looking forward to seeing your postings of the trip. I am pulling out my old pics so i can see if we were at the same places but at different times, lol.

AWWW!!!! Thank you!!! smiley.gif LOL@Akemi....im gonna take that as a good thing okay? #;o) I agree Lee....Rome is indeed a very beautiful city. The most amazing place was that old Roma....Forum something. That was really wicked!!! And of course the Colosseum....but a few negative things about Rome: 1. CROOOOOWDED!!!! We were there off season and it was still soooooo many people there. The line into the Vatican was 1.5 miles long!!! 2. EXPENSIIIIIVE!!!! My God, no wonder the Vatican has so much money. They bled you dry for every little thing. 3. STUPID RULEEEES!!! When entering the Vatican and church of St.Petrus....they had the same security checks as at the airport. And for some reason you werent allowed to bring inside your tripod. And with quite poor light....not all shots came out good i can assure you...sigh. But other than those things.....IT`S AMAZING!!!! Ooooh Sheila, you have no idea how really impressive all that architecture really is. I used to be quite proud over the fact that our chuch is Swedens most beautiful one...but having seen the ones in Rome....and especially St.Peters...or Petrus or how the international name for it is.....our church....SUCK!!!! I swear to God, its not bigger than the closets of those in Rome. And the 16th chapel...OH MY GOD!!!!! One man....4 years....upside down....WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!! Oooops...bla bla bla....better get back to browsing through my photos to see if any came out okay. See ya! #:O)
