Content Advisory! This message contains nudity, violence

I posted this in another thread here, but.. Well I just bought this Poser Physics plugin tonight and... since one of the things it does so well is to make people drop dead, I thought I'd try that. But dropping people dead "just because" seemed silly so the idea developed slightly... Anyway, here's the result. A little animation. It DOES contain a little bit of nudity so allthough it's not lewd in any way it's probably not totally worksafe... http://trekkiegrrrl.dk/DeadGeezer.wmv filesize just around 4Mb. Hey and I've never claimed to be a good animator L So.. those things that suck.. live with it LOL

I learned a lot about this new plugin by doing this. For instance that it's inportant to have enough frames for the guy to actually stop falling. The first attempt was with the default 30 frames, and he ended up sitting against the wall... increasing this to 50 frames helped, as did increasing the bouncyness slightly, so he didn't "stick" to the wall.

Here is James failing his first jump test in the "matrix" Im not sure what happened to my eagle but I think he distacted the poor fellow BTW if you set the main camers to "point at" your victim you get a nice impact camera shake effect right in poser

this plug looks nice but a little expensive IMHO, and... better for animations (and I draw single pics, not in movement). If I have this amount to expend, I have other priorities in my wishlist (for example, WW)

Yes this is definately for us animators who have been basicly ignored by CL/EF since poser3!! not much use to the still render majority but for those of us wanting to make our own little CG Action movies this tool is well worth the price!!

"this plug looks nice but a little expensive IMHO"

Really? Knowing how much work Paul put into this thing, I think the price is too low.

Considering the functionality this brings directly into Poser for animators; advanced functionality that is usually reserved for "high end" packages only (what other 3D apps, aside from the 'big 4', bring you good ragdoll physics?), I think it's a bargain! Message edited on: 11/28/2005 04:52

Actually Wolf, it would be worth it at double the price for the actual functionality...never mind what expansion ability is there... ;) Of course now we'll have another go-around with the app-nazis... "Hey, cool sequence, man! (insert $$$$ package)?" "Poser." "No F*cking Way! You had to use (insert $$$$ package)!" "Nope. P6 and and the new Python based physics plugin." "Yeah, right. That Poser toy and some dinky script did that? Pull the other one, Dude. Everyone knows you gotta--" And so on and so on...

It IS expensive for all of us who have no REAL use for it. But I must admit I've had more fun with Poser this past day than I've had in a LONG time. And well, I bought the CP passport, that gave me a $10 voucher, so with the initial discount, and the Passport discount and the voucher, I ended up getting BOTH Passport AND Physics for $59.90. (so if you planned to get Passport ANYWAY, it was a mere 29.95 for Physics and that IS cheap) Besides, it's simply so much fun to play with. I've never done much animations (mostly because I'm crap at getting ideas for anything even slightly resembling a script) but I've always been fascinated by the fact that you COULD do real, 3D animations on your home computer! And now, some of the things that were REALLY hard to do before are suddenly a breeze because this program does all the dirty work for you :o) Now if only I could figure out how to swap the cube with a table and the other things with a vase, without Poser crashing on me, I'd be happy as a pig in mud *G*

Being that one day i will be old,i was glad to hear that "no real old geezers were harmed" in your movie Ernyoka1, although i don't mind shuffling off this mortal coil after seeing at least one last nude... ;)

Getting old and still making "art" without soiling myself, now that's success.
