I have this image I like and request input. The first is an out of camera shot with only unsharp mask added. No colouring or other effects were added. My focus was more on the water than the culvert, and was going for more a silouhette. Yeah this challenge got to me and I am on this "sil kick" now.

This is with some contrast and brightness.

...and then a whole overview of the scene. This one is a different shot with some brightness added and some unsharp mask.

I actually really like that last shot! With that branch cloned out! The dof is great and the pouring water is more visible. Yea, I think I prefer the last shot Douggy! :)

i love the last image where you have nice detail on the culvert thingy. the rust and lines are shown so nicely, DOF is lovely! i would probably crop this one though. i find some of that stuff on the bottom to be a little distracting. And with that branch cloned out as Pascale suggested, it would be even better...less to pull our eye away from subject. it's a wonderful capture, Doug! hope you don't mind that i cropped your image to show you how i would do it. i'm not that great at cropping, but you get the idea anyway.

The third image appeals to me too, but I would leave it the way it is I think. Mostly because it makes it all more complete in some weird way... But that's my two cents :D

(hehe.. a round about way of postin doug..)
ditto the others.. had no idea that was a culvet in the 1st, it's distracting that dark
& the 3rd image with the suggested crop is a much stronger compo
the highlighted posts give it another dimension too

Awww darn I really liked that mid air droplet near the bottom Shiela..I do agree some of the other stuff is cluttering it. Kinda why I liked the top one the best. Pascale, that's funny because I was going to clone out the branch before posting it. OK back to it I guess.

I'm going to go with the third image. The DOF is more pronounced as you can make out some things in the background, the water is brighter, the shot is back far enough you can make out what everything is. It's more visually appealing to me. -Modulok-

can you cut out the droplet, doug, and place it in the cropped version? just a thought. :)

OK so is it within the TOS to tell what YPPIG is?
My english would say it is You Pig LOL
hehhe Joe that looks great. I started on the clone brush and was getting too many spots. So thought hmmm is this worth it. Thanks for your patience. Now I would not just steal that one, but will try again.

After youve gone over it with the clone brush, you use the patch tool to smooth over the spots. Should work really well with such a "clean" background. #:O)
