Subject: I broke my Poser 5!

Good morning all! So I gets back from Thanksgiving travel and decide I want to play with Poser 5. I click the .exe and it starts up - then quits. I get as far as the splash page then it just... goes away. I am running SR4 of Poser 5 on a WinXPPro system and had never had any problems before other'n slow processing. Where do I need to go to get this fixed? I'm starting here. Thanks for any help!

If you're sure you have enough memory, hard drive space, etc., try reinstalling Poser. Sometimes it gets corrupt. Actually, it goes bad on me quite often. Finally I made the Poser.exe read-only, and that helped a lot.

Can you recall your previous tasks? System restore? Reset restore point? Delete files? Format C:? :)

Try double clicking a PZ3 file as an alternative way of opening the application. Or try selecting a start menu or desktop shortcut instead of double clicking the Poser.exe. If all else fails you'll have to reinstall followed by any service releases.

No, no major things like formats or anything. I will try the PZ3 idea - thanks. If that doesn't do it, I'll hunt down my disk and reinstall. Thanks for the quick responses!

Wow! That question was asked a few pages back - it seems to be happening to a few of us.
