Hi, I have recently downloaded the free horse from Daz3d.com. This is a poser 4 model but the hors works in poser three. The mane doen't. :(. Any way I have now purchased the texture and bump maps. While the texture maps perfectly using the y=-1 thingy, I am finding the bump map looks great on the body but the white parts look crap. Any ideas on what I am not doing..... or is it a problem exporting the model from poser 3?? The picture shows my problem. The horse on the left has the bump map... but I guess I don't need to tell you that. :) Thanks Neil

I guess you don't have separately mapped textures for say, the feet? That is, is this one entire texture, or split into groups like Posette? If it's all split up, you should be able to alter the bump production for the areas you want, but if not... you might just want to make your own, new bump map... How's it all look rendered in Poser? And of course, it could have something to do with the difference in versions, possibly the .obj export.... I'm really not sure. :(

Try turning down the intensity of the bump a smidge. It looks like there may be a bit too much of a bump applied and that may be what's causing the problem on the feet of the horse.

Hi, Mike, The bump map is just one image and I guess playing with that was going to be my last resort. However KateTheShrew has hit it in one. Turning down the bump gain has pretty well remove the excessive grey bits around the feet. I wondered what that controll was for but never thought to play with it. :) I will have a bit more play with these controls and see how I get on. Thank you both. Have fun Neil

Cool, Neil--- gald Kate was able to give you a good answer. As for me, I don't really mess with bump maps-- I've actually only ever used only one, and that was more or less of an accident---- So, I've learned something here too. :) Thanks Kate!

Hey, had the same problem myself once. Fixed it with trial and error (especially error g). Glad to share the results of that learning experience. :) Kate
