Subject: Your photos on the walls

croxie ( ) posted Mon, 05 December 2005 at 4:10 AM · edited Mon, 03 February 2025 at 11:31 PM

First of all I have Doug's blessing to post this, in case anyone wonders if it's spam ;)

A little background first.
I've done graphic design for the past 10-12 years in a couple of different countries, traditional art for about 20 years and photography for the last 2 years. The graphic design have been focused mostly online and web development was my profession for nearly 8 years in L.A before I left and came over here to the UK a couple of years ago.
Now I'm leaving that behind (as much as I possibly can) and that's where Artfinity comes into the picture.

Artfinity will at some point become a store/art studio in Chesterfield when I've found the right premises for it. But until then we're operating from home.
And I'm writing about this because I've seen so many stunning galleries around here and I have a proposition for those of you who are interested.

Artfinity have a lease service, both for photos and traditional art. Our customers, who are mainly other companies and also governmental institutions, will lease framed prints from us to put on their walls. After 8 weeks we exchange those prints for other prints that they've picked out.
Because of this, we need to expand our collection of photos and that's where you come in.

If your photos are among those that will end up on a wall somewhere, it means exposure for 8 weeks and you get paid for it. Since we just started this service, we cannot offer you a fortune as payment, and for now it's 35% after all the costs have been paid for.
I might also add that the copyright will stay with the photographer at all times, your name will be printed on the matting and we will provide your contact information to any customer who wants to know more about your photos.

There are more information about this at Artfinity under the menu Contributions on the right side if you are interested.
I might bug some of you a bit laters about this over PM and if you're not interested, just tell me to go away and I'm gone :D

A contract will be written between you and Artfinity that will state what I've just written above.

So if you want to join us, send me a PM here so I can take a peek at your gallery. Your original photos have to be of a high quality and clarity, so dive into those backups and take a closer look before you get in touch.
And in case of any rejections - please don't take it personal. I'm looking for shots that will look good on the walls in places like waitingrooms, offices, hospitals and so on, so it's more about the subject than anything else.

That's it :D

If you have questions you can either ask them in here or over PM, that's up to you :)

Christa

He's everywhere, you know...lol As a matter of fact, I nailed down Andreas when I found him a few months back here at RR and asked if he was interested in selling through Artfinity. So he's been patiently waiting for me to get things setup and ready here ;)

I'm not really looking for anything special. I'm open to suggestions when it comes to subjects and the Collection will hopefully have more categories in a few weeks than what it has today.

As for people pics, that will probably take a while to get since I'm very stubborn when it comes to model contracts. Since the prints will be in official premises, I need to make sure I won't have any surprises later on with people claiming money from me because they're one of the unknowing souls who ended up in a photo that Artfinity have used.

Transportation is another category that needs more photos.

PS. And there's currently 6 photographers so far, myself included. C.

Hmm...does it say Coca Cola in white text on a red background? Coz I have restriction about that too...LOL I'm really hopeless that way ;) The thing is that brandnames like Coke and others will stir the pot a bit too much commercially. They don't like it when you use their brands to make money this way. I might add a lil list here for the heck of it. If nothing else it's easier than to read the TOS at Artfinity: What we won't accept: No portrait photo's without a model contract. No photos with well known brandnames visible. No photos with governmental buildings. No violence. No night shots of the Eiffel Tower since the lighting around it is copyrighted by the firm who installed it. That's it. Other than that you can suggest anything :D C.
