A friend of mine - the boss' son - just stopped by the office with his new car. It's the new Dodge Viper Coupe, 1 of 200 of a first production run. He let me take for a spin and I have to tell you man, it's a blast! I had it up between 70 and 80 mph in 2nd gear! I didn't get too adventurous, but he said he's had it up to 140 with no problem. I can believe it. It's a tight cockpit, but once you are rocketin down the road, you are glad you can't slide around too much. :)

Here are some more shots. These have only been available to the public for a couple of weeks...lucky me. ;] He had the previous generation of this car as well, and while the beast is still there, it is a much more refined drive.

Main Entry: menagerie Pronunciation: m&-'naj-rE, -'na-j&- also -'nazh-rE, -'na-zh&- Function: noun Etymology: French magerie, from Middle French, management of a household or farm, from menage 1 a : a place where animals are kept and trained especially for exhibition b : a collection of wild or foreign animals kept especially for exhibition 2 : a varied mixture Merriam-Webster rules!!!! LOL! I still dont quite understand how to interpretate those pronunciations, lol. Yeah...i wouldnt mind a Toureg either. Its just that where i live....there wouldnt be many roads where you could drive that Viper if you know what im saying. I rather have a vehicle that will actually get me to work after its snowed a couple of inches....wait a second...no i rather have one that doesnt, LOL. #:oP

LoL - gotcha. Yeah, the Viper is like a rollercoaster. It is a blast to go for a ride, but I wouldn't want to drive it every day. Here are my humble modes of transportation. An 02 Passat, and my wife's family hauler, an 05 Town & Country. The latter has more passenger space than 20 Dodge Vipers, lol.

Kort Kramer - Kramer Kreations

TobinLam ( ) posted Wed, 07 December 2005 at 9:38 AM

Vipers are pretty cool, except I had a bad experience with a jerk that was driving too fast in his and rearended my ex's friend who then rearended her. He asked if everybody was all right once and never apologized.

Zacko ( ) posted Wed, 07 December 2005 at 9:39 AM

LOL @ Tobin. Yeah, that sound like the typical Viper driver. I swear, I underwent a personality change when I got behind the wheel. Everyone else was just too damn slow! Andreas, the Passat is top left, and the mini-van is my wife's daily driver. She had to give up her beloved Golf when we had our daughter (sniff). That is actually my in-law's neighborhood, and my father-in-law's Dodge truck behind the mini-van. Here is my neighborhood - after the hurricane. At least there is no snow down here. ;^P

Zacko ( ) posted Wed, 07 December 2005 at 9:58 AM

8.3 liters and only 510hp? What a waste of engine size :( I like the looks of it, but seeing it is an american car it's suspension probably is flabby.

Hey, no American bashing now! I can assure you that the suspension is anything but flabby. I felt every blip in the pavement, in a good way. I used to drive a Buick, so I know flabby, lol. Also trust me when I say that the engine is perfet as is. It is probably more rock solid than one that has been pushed to the limit to extract every HP out of each litre. I'm sure the tuners will have fun with it anyway. And yes Andreas, they own the whole street. 8'o Actaully, just the house who's yard I'm standing in. The Passat is not the one I own, but a happy coincidence. Looks just like mine anyway. Here is a real shot of it. You can see my friends previous car reflected in it, a red 2003 M5. ::sigh::

You're right. You wouldn't want to drive a viper every day.It would be exhausting. Only 70K? Not more?Huh.But I bet they're impossible to get... What a gorgeous car it is.Love that interior, too! You took some really awesome shots of it Kort. I still haven't figured out what my next car will be.I'd like a sports car,but it has to fit at least one ridgeback, lol.AND be decent in the snow...My M3 was great but I used to get stuck in the ruts made by all the enormous SUV's everyone has around here! But I sooooooooooooo don't want an SUV!

I wish I didn't have to consider the snow.We don't get much but it's still an issue.Sigh.Unless I want to be housebound for the day.Usually that's all it is.They're pretty good at keeping the roads clean here.I guess the answer is to get a really heavy sportscar. The M3 was really heavy. One year I simply drove off while my neighbor couldn't move an inch in his BMW 750.You'd think the bigger car would be better, but it wasn't. Any suggestions?

Boomer are driving the real estate market down here in Florida. They are the most affluent generation in history, and some say the most wasteful as well. Hence an SUV that gets 8MPG and 2-3 houses. :)
