I'm searching for some motorcycles gloves(gloves without fingers).

Try Laura Croft at 3D Comic Collective...

You can also do it the way I did and I think the results are very good. I'll post a pic later. But basically just use the grouping tool to group both sides of the hands EXCEPT for the fingers and thumb. Then choose to assign a new material to your new group. Now in the materials editor you can assign a different color, texture, highlight values, etc. -Tim

To Fox-Mulder: What is the site? To timoteo1: Can you be more specific I'm not very good with grouping tool.

L&A: I had never used the grouping tool until a few days ago myself. Read the manual. It's pretty easy once you start fooling around with it. Basically you just select all the polygons you want to be the glove, choose create a new group, name it and then click on assign material. -Tim

There are tons of characters here- so plan to spend some time. Many have really nice innovations and props. There may even be more than one Laura Croft by now as these people go hogwild in character variations...

Here are my "grouped" gloves. I thought you'd better see what I was talking about before you went through the trouble of creating them. You may just want to find a pair of conformable ones. Take care, Tim

Can you give me them if you don't mind. As I said, I'm not good with the grouping tool.

timoteo1 ( ) posted Wed, 14 March 2001 at 3:50 PM

They're not something I can just "give" you unfortunately. They are not an object, they are simply the figure's hands with their own materials. Like I said, I never used the grouping tool until a week ago. Just READ THE MANUAL ... it's relatively simple. Good luck!

Thanks but if I fail, can you help me?

timoteo1 ( ) posted Thu, 15 March 2001 at 3:16 PM

Sure, I'll do my best. However, you might want to make a new post titled somrthing like "Need help with grouping tool" OR "Any tutorials on grouping" ? I'll admit it's not the most intuitive interface in Poser, but if you read the manual and just try it I think you'll surprise yourself. GOOD LUCK! -Tim
