Subject: Bi Monthly Subect/Contest

Syyd ( ) posted Tue, 13 March 2001 at 8:34 AM ยท edited Wed, 30 October 2024 at 1:04 PM

Dear members, Today is the 13th of March, we would like to begin the bi-monthly subject/contest today, the deadline for entires will be Tuesday March 27, with voting on the 28th, 29th, 30th, winner on the 31st, and then on the 1st of April we roll into our next bi-monthly. The award given will only be a small graphics award, but we are beginning work on fueling interest by sponsors in our six month contests, two a year. The first subject we all discussed was easter, and if it is alright with you, I would like to keep the easter subject for the April 1 subject, as Easter is on the 16th of April. Our subject the for the first bi-monthly contest is "anything industrial". Now, before you all guffaw, there is industry everywhere, in your house, garage, on the street, on signs, cars, buildings you name it. The photograph can be anything you want it to be, and all entries are welcome, by purists and media mixers alike. Any rules that need to be addressed will be sorted out as we roll, since we are all new to this. If anybody has objections, please state them now. If anyone would like to design an award, please state that now. Thanks! Syyd

Count me in on the contest. I like the theme and will have fun with it.

I'm afraid I'm going away for a while so I don't know if I'll be able to participate...but I'll try. :-)

I will really try, but I think I will be lost on the theme. Industry doesn't do much for me, no inspiration as of yet, but give me time, maybe I can find something. Leigh

well industrial can be an old car, a supermarket....it can be a rusty grill, something in your garage or basement, it can be pollution, an old building, a train car, lets see what else? traffic on a highway, a street light, anything your imagination can come up with LOL

Picking where to compete is an interesting exercise. That will soon sort itself out. Many beginners have a great eye and natural talent and need to be encouraged to submit. Since this forum is mostly to help us all improve and find our own eye any thing that meets that criteria is good .
