I'm not sure which runtime I was using last, but since then I've switched the hard disks in my computer, and done some moving of runtime files. I'm guessing Poser is hanging up looking for one of my extra runtimes instead of reverting to default. What should I do to avoid reinstalling?

You can create the folder structure that it needs ... in other words, if you last used a runtime that existed on your D: drive, and named it "Victoria 3", create the folders D:/Victoria 3/Runtime And beneath that, add the Geometries, Libraries, and Textures folders And then beneath the Libraries folder, add the typical library categories. You don't have to put anything in them, just add the folder structure and then Poser should be happy again.

I don't think it's looking for the one last used. I think it's looking for the main runtime. Make sure you didn't move that one. All my runtimes, except the main one, are on an external hard drive that tends to drop off the system every once in awhile. Turn off and on, and XP finds it again. This means that more than once, I've started Poser to find most of my runtimes missing. It's a a pain, because I have to add them all again. But Poser doesn't have a problem with it. The Downloads folder also has to be where it is. If you move or delete the Downloads runtime, Poser will re-create it. Anyway, I don't think Poser is looking for an external runtime.

I don't think it's looking for external Runtime either. I too have all my Runtimes except the main one on an external drive. Anytime I open Poser with the external drive not connected, all the Runtimes are gone but it never continues to look for them. In fact, it never shows any sign of missing them....LOLOL

You will also get the error messages described if you delete the Downloads runtime. I just tested that theory. You can add an empty file structure for external runtimes, but you'll have to move the default runtime and the Downloads runtimes back into the installation folders.

Now that I think of it I did try to delete the Downloads folder, but it was from the Poser5 Libraries GUI, and it would'nt really let me. Where does the Download folder go?

I found the configuration it was looking for by changing the drive letter of a Runtime HDD one letter, because there used to be a second HDD connected, and it worked, but now it's doing it again? The Downloads folder is also right there next to my Runtime folder?
