Subject: P6 breaks easy heirarchy viewing?

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Sat, 10 December 2005 at 11:14 AM · edited Wed, 22 January 2025 at 5:16 AM

I was just trying to view only the head, in P6, and I did what I normally did. Turn off the figure, turn on the head and eyes. This is all in the heirachy window. That used to work but this time it did. I tried many combos but it basically ended up that you just had to turn off all of the parts manually. I sort of noticed it the other day but I was sleepy. Does this happen to everyone else? If it is a "fix" then why did they do it? Just wondering ... Thanks

if you turn off the Body it will override all the settings below it. Turn of IK (this will make everything a child to the hip) open your Heirarchy editor. hold down alt click on the eye next to the Hip this will turn off the hip and everything that is parented to it. hold down alt click on the eye next to the head this will turn on the head and eyes

If you've hidden Body and then unhidden various parts, the Show All Figures command will make those parts appear. Figure menu --> Show All Figures Thanks for the tip on alt-clicking with the Hierarchy editor, Tyger_purr. That'll save me some time.

Thanks for the tip ... I still think the "broke" it from what you used to be able to do but that tip helps
