Just got back from seeing the remake of King Kong. This is one fantastic heart pumping spectacular film, my hats off to Peter Jackson he certainly did the original film justice, fine piece of cinematic artistry here. And Naomi Watts was believable as Ann and does a superb job. Love how they brought New Yorks Time Square area back to the 1930s. This movie is a heart grabber and is excellently done, go see it. Now, I should expect a check from Jackson in the mail soon. :)

I'm so jealous, you didn't take me with you! ;P I'm still hoping to go see Narnia, but probably will miss all of these great movies in the theater.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

LOLAng, if you had been waiting outside my house playing hooky from work, maybe we both couldve seen it. Im sure youll get your chance, Youre going to love it. The CG in this film is just jaw-dropping awesome. And Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts character) really gets tossed around.

Not to worry Ang, when this DVD is released in a few months you can come over and watch it on my 42" plasma. Did I mention the movie also has great surround sound? We'll blast the speakers off the wall. Hey, we can park my Jeep in the living room and call it a drive-in movie.

Ang25 ( ) posted Wed, 14 December 2005 at 11:10 PM

Ok its a date! but how do you plan on getting your jeep up all those stairs?

ROFLMAO - with that thought, I'm going to have to call it a night and get some sleep. I'm up way past my bedtime, lol.

I have to agree, an awesome movie. Although it's a bit of a shame the way Andy Serkis gets offed (kinda cool in a gross way). He did the Kong stuff as well as playing a sailor.

I loved the 70's remake! But then along came Jurassic Park and Godzilla...which when you think about it, all trashed a city! I'm looking forward to seeing this latest version. You have to admit Jackson's a pretty awesome director. @ Ang & Quest......are you guys becoming an item?????? Somehow, getting it on in the back seat of a Jeep is not my idea of getting it on......lol (Maybe Ang has this fantasy of getting kidnapped by Kong and having Quest rescue her .....mmm...there's a render in there somewhere)

Nemesis? it was on the premium channels for about 2 months..;) Not bad as a movie, but had a certain 'I don't know what' (je nes sa quas? sp? me? in French?..;) actually missing from it. Great effects, but feels like a 2-parter from the series more than anything else..
Have to wait until it comes out on video, I'm afraid..:|

The 70s remake of King Kong was so so with me. Ill watch it if theres nothing else to watch on tube. Dino Delaurentis, although doing a commendable job on the movie, he commissioned Rick Baker to design Kong as a biped and the animatronics leaves much to be desired in my opinion. The 1976 remake does not hold a candle to this modern production by a long shot. Certain movies, in particular, sci-fi and horror movies, seem to benefit as multimedia technology improves. And with a cutting edge director like Peter Jackson, this movie is all the better for it. Andy Serkis does an incredible job in both rolls, King Kongs mocap and Lumpy the cook who meets a disgustingly gruesome demise. But he was there until the bitter end as they say. Bryster, ahemmmyou silly goose.
