The last time when I announced my 51 Pontiac somebody said something about doing an 1950 or 51 Studebaker. So I went to work on it and came up with this Poser model. It was a whole lot harder than the Pontiac. I hated these cars as the ole' man had one that he would let my brother and I take to town. Double clutching, slow moving tank was all they were. Maybe that bullet nose for the rear was on a older car, I know ours looked like the pictures.

Great job!!! My Grandfather had those and also a Kaiser Fraizer that he swore by and wouldn't let go no matter what Grandma threatened him with. LOL Now my Dad had a '55 Buick Roadmaster that he got somewhere and even an "older" car when he got it, it would FLY! And it looked sporty too for a big car. I spent some time flooring it as a teen. ;-)

When I was a kid these Studeies were still running around, I remember them being called "Which way is it going" cars.

I also remember somthing about Studebaker using the same sheet metal presses for forming the trunk and the hood, because they had to save money, which is why they looked like this.

The 53 Studebaker Starlight Coupe (also called the Raymond Lowey Coupe) was a real nice design, though. Message edited on: 12/20/2005 09:35
