THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Snowy Christmas ball (procedural texture) freeby inside ;-p

pidjy ( ) posted Fri, 16 December 2005 at 9:51 AM · edited Sat, 08 February 2025 at 9:09 PM

Hey fellow Brycers!!! After reading Quest's post about the "multi-channel" textures, (A+B+C+D) I thought it would be interesting to create a specific texture. So I've choose to make a simple* christmas ball texture.. but with some snow on the top. here it is (not so simple in fact)

select the sphere, then go into the texture editor... and just change the settings as shown.

Very very cool, but I can't be fooled, its a photo (I see the room in the reflection) haha (I am just kidding, I know about using images on spheres {sometimes I have to clarify in case my dry sense of humor flys as being believed})

Uh oh, maybe its just me, but to change the amount of snow, which of the channels A, B, or C do you change the mat amount of? And thanks again this is very cool snow effect!

Rayraz ( ) posted Fri, 16 December 2005 at 1:42 PM

How do you map an image to the inside of a sphere again? I keep hearing about this but I've never seen how you do it.
