Here's a tour of the stones. I think this miniseries of photos show how light can change an photograph. The sun is almost in front of me

The light was perfect. All shots were handheld using a canon 16-35mm lens and a canon 350D. Thanks for looking

LOL @ Tedz!

Cool shots all!I've always wanted to visit Stonehenge.

It looks smaller than I've imagined it.Was it the tourist trap I've heard it is?

I saw a few stone circles in Scotland.They're practically everywhere.Lucky you to have had such wonderful light. Thanks for sharing.-M :^)

Be much more accessible Marlene once they have built the new dual carriageway road through the site ;)
They had planned to build a new replica one 1/4 mile away for the visitors and put the 6 lane road in a cutting but some people interested in old things started complaining :D

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

Nope In all fairness they have dropped the idea of the replica now - but the road is going ahead - they will hold another review of it in 2006 since so many people objected - but probably be a bit like the demolition of Earth for a hyper space bypass in: 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.' [they will publish the plans in a darkened cellar that is always locked with: 'Beware of the leopard' written on the door]. That's the trouble with Druids you see, for all their famed powers they didn't take into consideration future road planning when building their most sacred sites.

They really should have though ahead now shouldn't they...sigh. Well, let's hope that people come to their senses and don't further endanger this monument to the ages. Great photos and idea Richard. I too would like to visist SH and other monolithic sites in Europe and England some day. Way to light up my day!
