Subject: Why doesn't Tailor 1.1 recognize CRZ files in conforming clothes folder?

horndog40 ( ) posted Mon, 19 December 2005 at 10:40 AM · edited Sat, 10 August 2024 at 8:14 AM

Is this something I need a later version of the Tailor for?

I believe the newest version of the Tailor (1.6) will read CRZ files. But it doesn't read ZMD files, so you have to disable external morphs before you save your CR2.

The Tailor can not read the compressed form of the CR2 file. To uncompress the CRZ file use the Poser menu FileRun Python script and browse for RuntimePythonposerScriptsUtilityuncompressPoserFiles.py

There's a later version? OK did not know that. ..... then either get that or go with the script.

Thanks everybody, now I got it figgured out. Mr. PhilC, I have wardrobe wizard but haven't used it much. Is it possible to bypass the Tailor altogether to get a perfect fitting clothing item with WW with P4 figure and P4 clothes? I mean will it add the morphs like the tailor does?

nickedshield ( ) posted Mon, 19 December 2005 at 11:56 AM

Add morphs, no. What you want to do is run an analysis using the unmorphed(stock) P4 figure first then morph the figure then convert to that figure. you will have to use the advanced funtion if the clothes have morphs you wish to retain.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

That's correct, Wardrobe Wizard will not add the morphs but it will convert clothing to a morphed version of any supported figure. Because Wardrobe Wizard is so quick, what many folks are doing is converting clothing on demand. This saves a lot of hard drive space compared to storing a clothing item full of every conceivable morph you may every want in the future, (and remembering that they are there). If you wanted to actually add morphs into the clothing you could use Wardrobe Wizard as part of the process.

I have both Wardrobe Wizard and the Tailor 1.6.

Of course, the Tailor isn't designed to convert clothing from one model to another in the way that Wardrobe Wizard is. So the two programs aren't exactly the same. But both programs will fit clothing to morphed figures.

From what I've seen so far, certain outfits work better in WW, and certain other outfits work better in the Tailor. A couple of clothing items that WW gave that "melted in the microwave" look came out just fine in the Tailor. Likewise, certain other clothing items worked better in WW than they did in Tailor.

So -- IMO, WW and the Tailor 1.6 compliment each other. If one program doesn't do a satisfactory job with morphing a given outfit, then try that outfit in the other program. It might work there.

BTW - IMO also:

BOTH Wardrobe Wizard and the Tailor are five-star-plus (++++++++++) programs. I can't say enough good about just how useful they are to have in your toolbox.
