I'm really surprised. I was expecting to see a bunch of renders from all of you who have it. I keep telling myself that if the modeler could make it come out like it looks, then certainly you all can do it effortlessly. My next questions is, what can I do personally to the model to make it work just enough to justify the purchase to my husband? Would working with the scull caps do me any good? Is it possible to draw layers of hair on the cap and have it look reasonable? I sure could use some advice. To be honest, I find the better goodies in the free stuff. To all who've posted their hair in the free stuff, I am so grateful!

In the third one you will find a few renders of the hair. Maybe you can find there a few tips.
Got the hair and I find it ok.It is not quiet easy to use and one needs a bit of fiddeling around until one understands, whats done with which dial.If you look at it from the front there seems to bee a prob with the innersection .perhaps ill send some pics ive done later, just got home from work and im tired.
Thanks Arturito - I was reading those threads as they were posted, but I did go back and re-read them. I bothers me that Marque did not get an answer from the creator of the hair. If he won't answer her (who is seasoned artist in my opinion), he won't help me who is stuck in newbieland. I saw the renders as they went up, and I asked for more explanation, hoping that I'd see a 'i used this txtr instead' or 'don't use as a .bum'... so I figured someone here had found errors in the instructions or wrong numbers on the dials, and veered off onto their own with success. Maybe in time, someone will. Thanks again for searching out the older threads, I appreciate your effort.
If anyone can get a good render from the front without creating new morphs as the artist suggested another user do, then please share your secrets. I am not out to slam or demean any artist, I just want to be able to justify spending $30 for two nice looking skullcaps. Please share your front renders and let us know how you got them. Marque
Yes Please share A good front render. I can only get the sweep look to look half way decent and thats After I used the 100 MM lense. Utherwise I get a messy curly type hair. I have messed and messed with it and I cant get it took anything like the pictures in the store. :( Thats why I bought it. It's ok but not what I expected. check "messing with new stuff 2" and "Nadia". Both of these I used the hair on. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=39454&Start=1&Sectionid=1&Form.Search=spudgrl
You call that good? what about those straight strands in the front? Those are the ones I have a problem with, can you do anything with those? The hair sucks and I think the creator of the hair should fix those strands because I wouldn't use it on a good model like Saluda. You have curly strands and then two straight strands down the front. Glad you're happy with it though..at least someone is. 8^) Also on the top it looks like she used a bit too much mouse and the strands are sticking up with space between them. If I had seen these renders before I bought the hair you can bet your sweet a** I would not have bought it. I would imagine you just lost a few sales with that render. Marque
Hey Pervers, how did you get a smooth crown on Natalia? I get these high ridges that look like an 'M' Picture 2 on Saluda looks a bit better than my best shot at this hair. I feel a lot better - cause your straight hair is just as wispy and thin looking as mine. You can't tell me that it looks like the product thumbnails. Any why does the hair end in points? Is it possible to load the same mesh twice? One over the other? That would give it the fullness it needs. I do want to thank you all for helping me - the words and the pictures. I know my next statement is very sensitive, but it's too bad I can't even send the mesh to someone who could actually fix it up. Can't use it, Can't sell it, Can't give it away, Can't throw it out. I love America.
Im very impressed. I havent bought the hair, but Ive been reading all the posts in the forums about it. As far as I can remember, the maker of the hair havent posted even one message. Nothing. I dont understand it. But Im sure of one thing. This guy will never see a dollar of mine. If you buy something that doesnt work as it was supposed to do, you should have the right for a refund. You shouldnt shut up about this. If I had bought it and I cant get it to work even following the makers readme files, Ill ask him for a refund. People here at the store should take care about the quality of the products they sell.
When you order from the renderosity store it is understood that you get no refunds....hence...I will no longer shop here. If I was unhappy for any other reason I could understand it. But if they test the products they sell, they would have known you couldn't do a frontal shot, and would have at least warned us. It's called greed. Marque
I think some clarity on how the store works is needed. Think of the store as a Mall.. Each vendor renting their floor space for their own shop.. Hence the 50% we as vendors pay.. Therefore it is really up to each vendor to put right something that is wrong with their own product.. I can assure every that the majority of vendors will do so.. Believe me this situtation is of concern to us. I know as a vendor I would.. It might not be in the form of a refund.. mainly because I would have to pay back full price after having only recieved 50%... I can assure you all that some agreement would be reached where by any of MY customers are satisfied.

If anyone sees a mind wandering aimlessly around..... It is mine.Â
I want it back.
I bought the hair too, as soon as it hit the shelves. Was so excited to see all the different styles that could be achieved. Installed it, rendered it, and sat here in total discust looking at it. NOW, my first reaction was to run over to the forums, and see how everyone else was doing with it....well now I see that even though I'm a very novice user of poser, I'm not alone in my discust. I've heard that hmann is out of town, so this could very well be the reason for him not being here to tell us how to use his product properly. However, I have to agree with Marque.... I spent 30 bucks on something that I can't get to work half way decent, and it certainly does put some hesitation into buying anything new from the store, unless it's from an artist I've purchased from before, and has a good rep. fingers crossed that he fixes these files, and gives us all an updated version. The hair is #1 in the 30 best sellers list here, is there anyone out there that has been totally satisfied with it? Deb

Only for advanced users?? My ass! And even if that was the intent, than why did he spout about including settings to achieve the styles shown? I, like most everyone else who bought the product tried the settings when I couldn't get any acceptable results and they looked nothing like the previews shown when I wasted my money on the project. As it stands, I am extremely dissatisfied. I will wait for a response from the creator for a short time, but after that, if renderosity doesn't pick up the ball, I am through purchasing here. This is the second product I have purchased that I have been unhappy with. As for the no refunds, I understand the purpose, but they also supposedly test these products. How can they say they tested this hair and came up with results even similar to the previews. As of now, I wasted 30 bucks on hair that can only give a good image if my models walked around with their head sideways all day.
to billyg first: to fix the M you mentioned there is a dials "Top Down" set it to 0,7 or 0,8, that will fix it. second: I asked hmann two or three times things about the hair and recieved an answer within some hours.Last time it was on sunday. third : I dont think that the hair is so bad as all people complain.ok , it looks much better from the right side than from the front.but with most of the hair on has to do some postwork.but thats my opion. The only thing Im missing is some more instruktion what each dial does.Im german and for me its hard to understand the shortkeys

No matter how I try, I can't get the Total Hair to come even close to the product pictures. I've printed out the instructions, and the Dial.jpgs too. I follow every word. I've taken off the transparency and doodled around with each dial to see what it does as the author recommended. I get big ridges instead of a smooth part at the crown, and the sides look awful sparse. If you've gotten it to work, would you post some small face shot renders? Please? I don't think I wasted my money, but if I can't use it, it's a terrible shame. Am I the only one? Thank you for saving me (I know someone out there has got it perfect)
