Subject: What are some ways Zero all of V3's MTs Quickly

Angelouscuitry ( ) posted Wed, 21 December 2005 at 4:44 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 6:07 PM

Ockham wrote me a script, that works really well to do this, but I was working on M2 at the time. I just tried that script on V3, a few times, but it would take. I don't think it ever got started. Is there a .PZ2 for this, or an other means? = )

Not sure if this helps but it looks like PhilC has that function enabled in his forthcoming Poser Tool box.

If you open a default figure, and save it to the Pose library - WITH MT settings - you can apply that PZ2 to re-zero MT's. Keep in mind that it will also reset the current pose, so if you want to keep the positioning, but just reset the MT's, you can save the current pose first, without the MT settings, and reapply it after the morphs are zeroed out. You can also LOCK any body parts you do not wish to reset.

Nance's way is probably best, but just for the sake of completeness I include another method. In many figures the morph channels have default setting of zero (this is set in the "initValue" line for each channel), so using Restore > Figure (Shift+Ctrl+F) will offten zero all the morphs. There are exceptions, in V2 the "HdVictoria2" morph in the head has a default value of '1.000'. Using Restore Figure will also restore the pose, so as sugested by Nance, you should save a pose without morphs, before using it. The reason Nance's method is better is that it will still work if you have used 'Memorize' on the figure, or if some injected pose has reset the "initValue".

I'm not trying to be funny here, but daz studio has the option to zero figure, transforms or morphs. Hopefully, something similar might appear in P7. It would be pretty useful. mac

There is a python script by Kamilche, that should do the job... Morphtician. Available at PhilC's site http://www.philc.net/freestuff.htm Martin

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

Thanks all! It seems Ockham has done alot of work, on his ZeroMorphs.PY, since the last time I DL'd it from the Free Stuff here on Renderosity. It's working fine now! I'll have to do some testing to see which is the fastest. WHen I do I'll post what I find. = )

Nance - How are body parts locked?

-Select the body part -Go to the OBJECTS pulldown menu -Click LOCK

The problem with using zeroed figure poses with MT, is that you may wipe things you didn't want to wipe. For instance, you might want to reset the body morphs but not the face. It should be a simple task to make a total-zero MT pose and then just edit it to remove the bits to be retained. What would be useful would be poses to do the following: 1) Reset everything 2) Reset body morphs but not face 3) Reset face but not body 4) Reset facial expression but not features In my case I would settle for just 2 and 4.

Phantast, it should be easy to make the poses you sugest using the free utility MAT Pose Edit [v3.1.2].

Load your cr2 (character) in Poser, turn IK off. Zero all the pose channels by using the joint Editor (Note a zero pose is not necessarily the same as the default pose). Check that all the translate channels in the 'Body' and 'hip' actors are zero. Check that all the morph and FBM channels are set to zero in all actors (this is probably the default state on loading). Save the character to disk with a new name (say for example "Z").

You can open "Z.cr2" in MPE, and by selectivly deleting actors and/or channels create any of the pose types you mention in you post #10. When you have selectivly deleted the actors and/or channels, save out a pz2, reload "Z.cr2" and repeat the process to make your next pose.

Nance - Oh, lock "Actor!" Why did they start calling parts Actors, and still refer to bodily segments as Parts? I think the script is the fastest, becaause it is not in the same place, of the GUI, that your poses are in. When you are already in the Poses library you need to move it around to get back and forth between the Zero'd poses and what you trying to work with. Once opened the Python Pallette is just a click away. The script does'nt dilly dally either. It's rather fast. My V3.PZ3 is 200MBs now, mostly because of head injections. Ockham's ZeroMorphs.PY can reset the whole head in a snap! Phantast - When you open Ockham's python it gives you a list of all the parts in your figure. You then either leave the list alone to reset everything, or you click to highlight(Not even Ctrl. click) all whichever parts you want to zero.
