Subject: dynamic to conforming clothes

Hi, Is there a step by step procedure that allows conversion of dynamic to conforming clothes? I recognize that dynamic clothes are more realistic, however, I prefer using conforming clothes as I frequently change poses for my projects. Any help would be greatly appreciated..... Cheers vxg139

Hi, i find it handy to use both too - dynamic for closeup. some conforming clothes can be converted to dynamic. if you get philc clothing creator cd - the way it is set up i think makes it possible to turn any prop clothing (not just what u create yourself) into conforming. love esther

It can be done - with a lot of effort. If you really want to make conforming clothes, you should get yourself the book "Secrets of Figure creation using Poser" by B.L. Render. It is not for the faint of heart, however. The book assumes a good working knowledge of Poser. Another place you can look into is the tutorial section of www.nerd3d.com. He's got a tutorial for making conforming boots, you can expand on it to create other conforming clothes. Both the book and the site don't go into modeling your own cloth models. But since you already have the model (the dynamic cloth) it's no problem. Caveat: if you're turning dynamic clothes into conforming ones, you'll have to make morphs to fit the clothes to a morhped character. Another very time-consuming business. If you're going to use such a conforming garment time and time again, it's worth the effort. But don't waste your time on converting a dynamic clothing item into a conforming one if you're only going to use it for one or two renders. Recalculating cloth dynamics is much, much faster - and you can relax and have a cup of coffee while Poser is working for you.
