Subject: Mimic Pro 3 and C5

Anybody using mimic pro w/ c5, but not poser? Wondering if not having poser would detract.

I am a newbie, in this. Mimic generates a Poser Pose file and it seems to work great. But I doubt that you can use it directly from Mimic without Poser in C5. I am about to test this, probably tomorrow, since I just purchased C5 and the Transpose plugin. (still downloading it) My intention is to create a short movie with a Poser figure speaking in a bigger world than Poser can handle.

It said D|S also, but no demo of 3 just 2. It is on sale now(significant discount)...and it seems pretty vital(lipsync) in alot of animation, however,I have spent way too much money.I can't find enough about it and I don't have poser so I don't know the limitaions. I probably won't play with animation til later anyway to any degree. Since C5 can't reuse(animation)...It will make me a bit batty. Altho blender supposedly has a lipsync script also may play with that.Would be curious...how it worked.

Attached Link: http://www.daz3d.com/program/studio/1_0features.php

Mimic produces 3 types of outputs. 1) A DMS project that can be loaded back into Mimic for editing 2) A Movie or Flash export 3) A Pose file that is applied to an object in Poser.

So the normal process I use is

In Mimic
Load Wave file
Load Text file
Generate a Pose file (if I do any tweeks I also save the project file here)

In Poser
Load character
Load pose that mimic just generated
Save PZ3 file

In Carrara
Load PZ3 file
Render

According to the features of Daz Studio it can use the pose files (see link)

Yeah I bought it anyway...since it is supposed to work with D|S...will have to play. I was not having great luck w/ bone posing from D|S to C5...will have to see if there is a way to get the chains set up more easily. I need to see if d|s generates a PZ3 for animation. The price was too good at almost 50% off. :D
