hrm... i made aiko and hiro versions of a drider... posted a pic today of it. looks like once again we both had same idea.

The front apron-part bothers me... looks like the millenium horse's beer belly (what the Brit's call "brewer's droop"), and it only has 6 legs. If his arms are to take the place of 2 of the legs, his trunk has to be much shorter. Did you see "The Mummy Returns"? The Scorpion King as a scorpion was pretty well integrated (although his eyes didn't look human). I like the legs a lot (they look pretty wicked), but he needs 8 of them. Carolly the Opinionated

Dodger's working on finishing the mapping right now, so we can't show textured yet -- but he should get us some shots of the rigging posed pretty soon.

looks good :) looks like your doing the same thing as me, merging the two figures? works out better that way for the people so they dont have to use two seprate models. at least ours are two different styles of spider bodies :)

MUCH better with 8 legs showing! For some reason, I can accept a half-man-half-spider creature, but balk at a 6-legged spider. ;^) For weaponry, I'd give him a crossbow. :very wide very evil grin: That would be very effective in cramped quarters (hard to swing a sword, poke a lance, or shoot real arrows while in tunnels). A ranged weapon would help with those cowardly nuisances who prefer not to get close to those wicked legs. It could fire bolts coated with spider venom. With a spot of adjustment, the bolts or quarrels could carry webstuff to help anchor a web or line in places the spider itself is too heavy/bulky to navigate... and, if really sticky, it might be able to reel in a struck opponent.
