Don't delete carrara. Do make sure you have the new demo w/ patch. If you need to just install over the older demo will not hurt anything, uninstalling might kill the demo. Need to know more about how you are bringing it in. There is native and transposer2. Is it an obj or pz3? Often you will have to manually apply the textures if it doesn't pick them up like with obj that doesn't get a mtl file or c can't find it because of a path issue. The master shader message is no big deal and is very generic and common when you go to alter a shader. It should be able to bring things in fine for the most part with a proper pz3 or obj file.

Hmm. I'll make sure that the patch is installed. I uninstalled the demo, but kept my legal copies of Carrara and TransPoser intact. I'm trying to bring the file in both as native and with TransPoser. As native, the mainfigureand clothing come in, but I can't edit any of the Poser Material settings. As TransPoser, my main figure imports, but not the custom clothing I have for him. Also, I have another file where the figure and clothing come in, but not the entire pose I'd set in Poser for the figure. The legs are posed, but not the arms. This is usingbothnative and TransPoser. Any ideas, anyone?
Yeah, only a bit. Native will not support dynamic hair and clothing. TP2 is supposed to Bring it all in. Did you check to see if the custom clothing was being omitted? May not be able to find it.Only TP2 will deal with this. Just not sure what you are using now.

I'm using TP2 to bring it all in. I used this plug-in to convert some Mike3 clothing to David: http://www.philc.net/WardrobeWizard.htm The obj file for this clothing is in a specific folder. When I used C5Pro Demo, I pointed to where the obj file is. Now with C5, it doesn't seem to find the obj because only the David figure comes in but not the clothing.

I'm having trouble with a custom Poser figure. I first opened it with the Carrara 5 Demo, then I tried opening it with my copy of Carrara 5. I want to alter some of the Shader settings but I don't get any of the figure's original Shader settings. Carrara asks me if I want to create a new Master Shader or if I want to edit the current one. If I edit it, I get a grey-colored Shader. I'd like to re-import the figure, but I'm not sure how to do that. In Lightwave, if I imported a Poser figure, a set of files was created so that Lightwave could read it. Does Carrara do something similar? If so, this could be what's interfering with Carrara. I'll also try deleting my Carrara Demo and see if that helps any. Does anyone have any suggestions?
