Last year (Link), I did have a problem animating a Mech in Poser5. LittleDragon came to the rescue and problem was all solved. This year I made a New Years Resolution. No, I do not smoke. The new years Resolution is to get serious with Animation. Make short clips of some sort to gain skills. Now that I have Poser6, I know fairly well enough of the program to get me started. For the last week, (image). I been looking back at the Renderosity thread into solving this problem of making this Madcat to walk and show up in the Walk Designer window. Of course I am able to get the Mech to show up at 100% full scale. But now, I am not able to get the Cat to walk in it. The MadCat Mech just bounces up and down and looks limp when doing so. The legs do not even move back and forth. If you look at image, the legs are in a position and the mech goes up and down. That is it. I do not know if this is a bug, because in Poser5, these mechs did well. Now, I have Poser6. I am unable to get the same results, doing the same things. :-( Anyone?

Okay, here's how *I* did it:
  1. Edit the original MadCat CR2, renaming the body parts to Poser standards (lThigh, lShin, lFoot, etc.). Poser 6's Walk Designer is case-sensitive ... Lthigh is not the same as lThigh.

  2. Load the MadCat into Poser. Scale it back to 100%. Set BODY, hip, and foot y-trans values to zero. Zero figure. Memorise figure. Resave modified figure to library so it'll have external geometry.

  3. Keyframe a custom 30-frame walk cycle for the MadCat. Save it to P6's Walk Designer pose folder.

  4. Relaunch Poser. Load the MadCat into the scene. Create a walk path. Launch Walk Designer. Load the MadCat's CR2 as a figure type. Set the MadCat walk blend to 100%. Apply.

To apply a walk cycle to a none standard figure, it seems to be that the following conditions must be met. Tht figure must contain these actors: BODY hip rThigh rShin rFoot Thigh lShin lFoot The actors (except BODY) must contain actual geometry, though they may be hidden if desired. The legs must have IK chains, though the IK can be off.

With many attempts..I finally got it to do the job. I really dunno where I went wrong. Ummm...puzzling. Thanks.. :-)
