Hello, I have read the ReadMe file and I just can't seem to figure out how to get this to work. I have loaded the figure. Applied a Body suit then tried to add the hair . . . and the body disappears. (See pic). Has anyone used this for D3 or M3 that can offer some advice? What am I doing wrong? Thanks! Seattletim (I forgot to add the pic last time I posted this.)

You need the separate bodysuit, sold at DAZ. It's a conforming figure. You apply the hair textures to the bodysuit, and it makes any texture you have hairy. You can't use this product on a naked M3, as you have discovered.

Hi Randy, Thanks for the response. I guess I was not clear in my message. I do have the Body suit for David (UntraBody Suit) and applied it first. (THe figure above is David) I read the Read Me for David's the body suit and then tried to apply the hair texture from David Hairy - and it did not work. What am I doing wrong? BTW - I could find no way to conform the Body Suit I used to the figure.

So you're trying to use the M3 "Very Hairy" product on the David's Ultra Body Suit?

I'm not sure that will work. The mapping might be different. David has his own product, called "David Hairy," that works with his bodysuit.

You might try using the other body suit. David's Ultra Body Suit comes with two different versions, each mapped differently. So if one doesn't work, you can try the other. (But I seem to recall that his body suit is mapped different from M3's.)

You conform the body suit the same way you conform any clothing. Figure -> Conform.

THanks for the reply again. No, as I say above, I am trying to use David Hairy on David's bodysuit with no success. I realize M3 is a dif character and I have the Ultra Bodysuit for him too and have the same poor effects. With it. My guess is taht I am not understanding the order in which to apply things. OR. . . there is something wrong with my product files. I know how to conform clothes to figures and understand from the Read Me file that this sould be just like that. . . only the body gets colored and I have have a chance to conform anything. The menu in the upper left hand part of the preview window (that tells what "actor"/body part you have selected) never includes a body suit for me to select. I know I am new at this, but I understand the basics . . . I just can't get this to work and feel very frustrated.

It looks like a transparancy map is being applied to David himself as well as to the suit.

Okay, don't worry. We'll get it working.

Use David's MM bodysuit. (There are two in the David Ultra Body Suit Package. The only difference is the mapping - the way textures are applied.) David Hairy is designed to work with the MM version, so use that.

Bring David into the scene. Then bring the Bodysuit MM in, and conform it to David.

The David Hairy package comes with skin textures for David, and hair textures for his body suit. So use the MAT poses to apply the skin textures to David, and the hair textures to the body suit.

You can also use the body suit and hairy textures over a skin texture of your own, if you'd like to add hair to it.

There are a lot of MAT files. Some of them just add sheen or change the bump strength (basically, the roughness of the texture). Make sure you are using the right MAT poses for what you want to do.

And don't forget to change the selected figure between the skin texture on David and the "Very Hairy MAT" on the bodysuit. Perhaps you could do this to be sure: (don't click on any figure in the main scene, use only the libraries). Load David; Load the skin texture; Load the Bodysuit; Load the "Very Hairy" mat. I'll be curious to see how it came out, because i was intersted by this product.

I have this product and suggest you try this alternate approach: load the body suit, apply the hair mat (it will seem invisible). Load David as a new character, pose him, and add body morphs... Copy the pose and morphs. Conform the bodysuit to David, paste the morphs. I usually have to tweek biceps, pectorals, and calves. Render.

Doesn't that cause problems with the morphs? I thought the DAZ generation 3 characters needed to be the first figure loaded in a scene for the morphs to work correctly.

It still is not working. I even went to DAZ and relaoded the D3 Ultrabody suit and checked I have all the right files for D and M3 and I do: D3, Ultra Body Suit, David Hairy M3, Ultra Body Suit and Very Hairy At least with David I can get some color on his body . . . nothing happens at all with M3 when I try to apply the bodysuit. With David's suit I get a bunch of files, but nothing distinguished as MM version. There are white body suits, five of dif colors, partical applications where skin shows, and grey ones for some texture. . . but none of these have a name called MM. It is a vry confusing products and at this point I would not recommend it. (BTW - I reloaded it and see that nothing is missing in the new files from what I already had.) urrrr. Thanks for your help. Perhaps I will send a copy of this link to DAZ. Thanks!

Those are solely the MAT poses and not the actual suit. The five body suits clued me in. It should be under figures, david morphing clothes or something like that. Load David, go through your library and go to figures, find the "David Catsuit MM" mine is in the David Morphing Clothes folder. Use the two checkmark thing to add the suit, you should now have another gray suit overlapping David, if you don't have that you are doing something wrong. You can then conform the suit to David and apply the texture that you want. I noticed in the picture above it is Michael's head though so make sure you are using the right figures too. Hope that helps.

The David bodysuit is in the Figures part of your library, in a folder called David Morphing Clothes. It's called DavidCatsuitMM. (The other one is DavidCatsuitPM.) The MM and PM may be cut off, depending on your font settings.

OMG! It worked! The ket for me here was in understanding that I had another bodysuit in the Figure library and the Morphing Clothes File. That did not seem to be an obvious place to look . . . I assumed it was with everything else. What was very confusing about this was the placement of this file and the fact that when looking at the preview window. . . you see no hair. It only showed up when I rendered it. I thank you all for your assistance. Perhaps this will be of use to others who have or want this product. The documentation with it is poorly written - especially if you are new to this. Thank you all! Tim

Glad you got it working.

You will almost always find clothing in Figures section of the library. The "clothing" in the Poses section are MAT (material) poses, for applying textures to clothes.

Occasionally you'll find clothing in the Props section, but usually it's in Figures, and it's never in Poses.
