Subject: Obj. Problems? (Barbarella)

Deal ( ) posted Mon, 19 March 2001 at 9:27 AM · edited Sun, 02 February 2025 at 11:03 PM

I downloaded the Barbarella figure (not sure who created her off hand, sorry) and whenever I try to load her up, I get get a series of "cannot open resource file blah blah blah blah blah blah" .....I know that the obj. that poser is looking for is there. In the readme file is says to use UVMapper to import the UVS to create a new obj....which I did!!! but it doesnt work. I also get the same message with the other barbarella figures. Also, I get the same message about the boot figures that she uses wich I DO have! Is this a known issue with this figure or is it a poser problem.....Or am I an idiot?! I think that they are great figures and would love to use them. please help!! Thanks

Let me guess... Barbarella is from Poserworld/Fairywoods? Those are renapd's creations, and work fine if installed to the intended folders. Try deleting the .rsr file next to the obj with the error message, and make sure you have all the necessary parts installed before you open the character. Trust me... she does work and she is marvelous.

I had the same problem. Remember the "new" catsuit has to be created with UVMapper. There are instructions in the file if you got it from RenaPD, or you can go to the FairyWoods site and print out the additional ones. I have a problem with a lot of d/led chars when it requires modified files. Since I installed the patch, it won't ever load the character, it just locks up the program and requires a forced shutdown in extreme cases. I've done and redone some of the Objaction files or installation of the .obj in question. It ain't a big deal for me, I just like to see what others have created ... maybe borrow morphs or props with due credit. Hope you get it working. She is nice. So is the Black Queen--great job of making a more mature facial morph. GrayMare

Sorry about the double post--itchy mouse finger. Too much time spent this weekend drawing hair textures... GrayMare
