Winter. Be not sad. Each day brings the spring closer, Despite the cold feet. --- Oh, you don't have to bow out. It is all just for fun. Now that you know how it works come on back. ~jon

Feet still tread across the frosted grassy field. The sun will return. *** Please don't leave just because you've been doing it wrong Acadia, the rules are in the first post. :)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 08 January 2006 at 12:31 PM · edited Sun, 08 January 2006 at 12:33 PM

Acadia,

Please don't leave... just learn and have fun.

Formal rules are 5,7,5 syllables, and either a time or a place should be implied, but not stated. For example, one wouldn't say "Groundhog's Day", but

His hibernation
Disturbed, Phil growls at gloved hands
And goes back to bed

tells you what day and where you are. :) What we added for the challenge is using the last word to start the next haiku. By deleting all of yours, there are now gaps in both the structure and the thoughts expressed (since we've been playing off of those as well). :sigh:

Ready the forepaw! Take aim at the coffee cup! Plink, plink go cookies!! OK, so it is silly. I'd reclined with the newspaper: a cup of coffee on the floor and a pair of cookies on the stool next to me. Skrogg hopped up on the stool, preparatory (I thought) to her claiming a lap. Wrong. She calculated the trajectory, scooped quickly, and BOTH cookies ended up in the coffee. Then she sat there admiring her handiwork. Coffee with lemon cookies tastes terrible. :( Carolly

Cookies for the eyes,
Of course, carrot, for the nose.
My cold friend takes shape. --- We just had a little snow, probably less than two inches. But it was wonderfully heavy wet stuff, the kind that packs so well. Dispite the lack of depth, I still saw some snowmen in the neighborhood.
