Hi, i've created some sort of living room, in wich a character resides, watching TV. I've been trying to take an AVI (or whatever) anim, and put it on the screen of the TV, as if the TV is working, but the anim always gets put as background ... Is there any way i can achieve this effect of having a TV with moving screen ? Hope to hear from someone soon ! Regards, Rob.

The only way to import an AVI, MOV or whatever format into your Poser scene is as a background.

Your best bet is to do this in post production. I would set the material color of your TV screen a bright blue or green (using the same color as your ambient color) and then use an effects program, such as After Effects, to composite in the AVI of what's on TV. This could get complicated if your camera is moving in the living room scene.

Hi thanks for your reply to my question. Now that i know this, i'll have to try a different approach to this 'problem'. I'll keep this forum informed on this.... Regards, Rob.

Too bad you can't have an animated texture map! Something else for the Poser 5 wish list. Would be the perfect solution for something like this, or a fire effect, or a Vorlon ship...

The other thing you can do if you have a modeling prgram is to use your animation as a texture for your tv screen. Render the animation in your modeling program then import the avi as a background. I've used this before and it works rather well. Email me and I'll send you the url of some animations using this technique. Ed
