Subject: Modeling clothing for Poser figures - tutorials?

arcady ( ) posted Mon, 23 January 2006 at 6:53 PM · edited Mon, 29 July 2024 at 2:19 AM

I asked something like this about a month ago when I first learned I would be getting Carrara 5. Now that I finally have it, I'd like to pose the question again.

What is out there for helping me learn how to model clothing for a poser figure in Carrara 5?
Not 'bone / jointing', but the actual modeling and getting something to be like clothing and close to body - especially without at some stage copying the underlying figure's mesh (ie: modeling something that would not have copyright issues if put up online).
Where should I start and what can / should I do? I'll be searching the forums for the older discussion, but I also wanted to ask again and see if anything has changed or if anything was missed before.

I have a 44 page pdf "Carrara 4 Making Clothes Tute". I can not find the original name or the source other than I dated the pdf conversion 5/3/05. Its by far the best one I have seen but it's 4.2MB.

Hey arcady...is this link I posted your tutorial. I didn't look thru the whole pdf doc. I would like to see some hex, but this will probably convey...just hopefully easier. LoL.I definitely need to check out the uv map tutorial from andrew. and see if I can't make it do more...like to do alot more uvmap texturing, but it is a bit arduous :D
