After viewing the video for Night Watch, which I loved, I came across this French(?)film noir at the grocery store, no less, called the Immortal.

About the god Horus who has only seven days on earth to visit his creation (us), and leave an heir, before being put into endless cyrosleep by the other gods he travels with...storyline needs tightening, it takes place in a futuristic NewYork, but the visuals, both realtime and CGI are stunning (Maya and Lightwave were used).

The overall movie is somewhat 'blue' in tone, with sickly greens and greys. For those whose taste runs to the eclectic in film, an interesting 102 mins, on par with City of Lost Children...

And the comic is way cooler than the film. There are two comics that I know of: Gods in Chaos and Woman Trap, both translated to English.

I got this on DVD earlier this year, love it. Still can't seem to find Night Watch on DVD at Amazon though.

I found a listing for it, but it is "unavailable". Maybe they ran out? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CO8BH8/qid=1138155950/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/103-6556229-6937434?s=dvd&v=glance&n=130 AS

Avalon was intersting...a little drawn out, but worth a watch. I've been seeing it in my cable guide (hbo or showtime I think) AS

Found it, thanks AS. Oddly enough it does not get seen by a search from Amazon.ca - I have sent them a note about this discrepancy.

Yay, IMDB! =) I saw a preview for 2046 once, not sure what movie it was now ("Kung Fu Hustle", I believe), but wasn't interested in it much. Maybe I'll rent it one day (anything with over a "7" on IMDB must at least have some redeeming virtues, right?).

If you like Avalon then you should try Casshern.

It's a very good movie actually. Even though some of the composite work is rather odd. Some looks real good others don't. Movie has a very interesting look though and it's a good view.

I've been looking to lay my hands on Casshern. Insane trailer for that movie. AS
