Sorry it's been so long since I have posted anything. (Almost 8 weeks). But life got in the way. Thought I would share some of what I have been doing. This was for a project for the photo class I'm taking. Had to do still life and I thought........you can't get much more still than death. LOL (my instructor has a morbid sense of humor, says it's necessary in this business.) Anyway any suggestions would be helpful. Now for the question. I'm needing to retouch a couple of spots on a photo and was curious if anyone knows a place on the web to buy Spotone. I know it used to come in a 3 bottle set but it cannot be found locally. I have found the #3 bottle but thats it. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I saw that photo and I like it. I was wondering what are those white specks. They must be the specks of Death. I don't know what Spotone is..but from the name I gather something to do with the tone of spots. Enjoy you photo class...

Thanks for the comment. The white specks are probably dust on the scanner. (not to be confused with dust in the wind). LOL. Spotone is a dye used to cover up spots on a photo. Kind of like touching up the white spots in this photo if they were part of the picture. They made it for color pictures also. There are re-touching pens on the market but I have had absolutly no luck with them. With Spotone one uses a brush and "dabs" on an ink like substance. That's about the best description I can give of it. The brush is very fine. I use a 10 "0" and a 15 "0" only about 2 hairs.

If the problem is scanner dust cant you use Photoshop to retouch? Or not allowed for your course?

I know spotone is pretty hard to come by these days
Edit: There are similar product sets on the market, dont how they compare to spotone, http://www.warehousephoto.com/amazing/itemdesc.asp?CartId={F4394A2EVEREST6-08EA-4542-A08A-CCE9D833CFDB}&ic=28275 http://www.warehousephoto.com/amazing/itemdesc.asp?CartId={F4394A2EVEREST6-08EA-4542-A08A-CCE9D833CFDB}&ic=28274 Good luck Simon
