Subject: When did this happen?

I haven't been here for a few days really to look around, and discovered the gallery thumbs open a window instead of going to the page in the same window? When did this start, as IMO, it's very inconvenient this way. Before it was simple to look at an image and click back. Now, you have to hit close each time and the opened window won't stay locked at full screen (at least not in IE). Is this the new thing, or will there be an option to choose whether we like it one way or the other?

This thread will have more information about it.

Clicking in the actual picture will also close the page, which is way easier. I haven't had problems with going ahead and viewing the image at fullscreen (also IE, here) But, with everything that is going on different members are having random problems with their browsers. AgentSmith

Thanks AgentSmith. I added a note to the full image page letting folks know they can click the image to close window. Tim

I have no problem with the image opening in a new window. However, I wonder why it has to be a full Rendo window complete with links, banners, etc. Why not just do a simple window without all the extras? Looks neater and is less confusing (IMO).

I've always opened images in new windows anyway, so no prob.

I don't mind the new window as much as having to set the new window in full screen, which I use when surfing on Rosity, but I found a freeware program that "fixes" that by telling the browser to open to full screen automatically when it opens a window, so that will work. I realized you could click on the image to close (which is pretty good), after posting the message.

I prefer opening a new window, as it saves alotta time having to reload the gallery (thumbs) page, and probably cuts way down on server load. I only click on 1 outta 50 thumbs (or less), so it's a big time-saver for me.

and I'm back on my XP laptop after it's little vacation to the tech-shop... points down to post about rosity and win2k frankly ever since the new window feature was added I have to join the "Rosity is too damm slow" chorus because things have definitely slowed for me since this feature was added.
