...that I have been amongst the missing! I have been hunting for lodging for my trip to The Florida Keys at the end of March. YAY!!! EXPENSIVE is the word to use when seeking hotel/motel rooms there, the prices I found started at $200 a night and went up from there... I finally found a 2bd/2ba house for rent down there that wasn't booked and darned cheap at that!!! I have seen images and it is a beautiful stilt home. I have decided to make it a mini vacation and take the full week!!! I am so excited about this trip, I still have to book the seaplane for the Tortugas, hopefully that won't be an issue, but it is Spring Break after all! I am sure that all of my cf cards will be full when I return! :-D Sorry I was just soooo excited I had to tell someone!!! :) Brenda :) P.S. Oh yeah and I almost forgot, I think I might have sprained my knee today, so it looks like a trip to the Doc's office either tomorrow or Monday! :(

OK so we can call off the APB on you then. Youre not supposed to hurt yourself either. Hope it is not sprained. That can be a bit worse sometimes. Maybe dislocated cap? I can tell you I have never seen houses on stilts except in some movies, so first hand would be good if you get there.

We were about to send out the hounds, glad you checked in. Glad to hear plans are coming together. U should have talked to me, the place Lis and I stayed for our honeymoon was great, and not too expensive. But sounds like you are all set in that dept. sorry to hear about the knee, heal up fast. I guess you are our #3, glad it wasn't more serious. I guess you don't have a lappy to download your images too? I don't either, it's on my list. :]

I do enjoy shooting sunscapes! :) So no problem in that department Marlene and Andreas and I am sure I can shoot one for both of you!!! The beauty of the keys is that you can do an Atlantic sunrise in the morning and walk to the other side of the street and shoot a sunset on the Gulf! There is also the famed Key West Lighthouse that has been missing from my collection for some time now and the lighthouses on both Loggerhead Key and Garden Key, plus there is Ft. Jefferson in the Tortugas and can you imagine a Miami skyline image at night??? Maybe after revisiting the Key Biscayne lighthouse!? Plus all of the sunrises and sunsets I can handle, no worries I have two 512mb cards and a 1 gig at present, I may invest in another 1 gig card before I go too! I am including a link here to a gallery of images from The Dry Tortugas for you all to have a look at. Yep I can feel some aerial shots coming on too! ;) Here is yet another link to images from this magical place, sorry but you will have to copy and paste this one! :) http://www.nationalgeographic.com/adventure/0111/photo.html The knee is badly bruised, not sprained or broken thank god! Huge hugs to all! Brenda :) Psst!!! Kort I have linkage to the vacation rental where I will be staying if you are interested, how does $100 a night sound?

TwoPynts ( ) posted Sat, 28 January 2006 at 6:03 PM

Glad to hear the knee is only bruised, heal up quickly! $100 a night is awsome, though I doubt I could join you. But maybe next time. :) Those are some beautiful shots of the fort and Tortugas...I'd love to go there with camera in hand and explore to my heart's content... =0]

No, no, no Kort you misunderstood, during peak season a week is rated at $100 a night, the house sleeps one to four people, two twin beds and a queen bed. I am thinking it is cheaper off season. Prices have gone out of sight down there, dunno if you have checked recently. I can send you a link with all of the contact information for this guy, $100 a night for a house down there is unheard of, this link is for your future use! By the way? That price includes the use of the boat ramp as well. Sorry you can't join us, but I will be sure to bring back some images for you all. Brenda :)

Looking forward to them,Brenda!

And I wouldn't mind the info as well.I will be going to Florida this spring,to visit my mom,but I always plan a mini-vacation in there as well...and was considering the Keys this time...

So any info you have would be most appreciated!
