Well AoxoMoxoA, Spaz voodooninjax etc let it be known that it is possible to betray trust and put stolen files on all the Warez boards under the sun but no one can ever steal the creative spirit that made the work in the first place. I can not stop anyone sharing files illegally only one's own sense of honesty can do that. Similarly I can not stop others from downloading them. That too is down to their conscience.
And to the guy who has just bought the knights templates but as far as I can see not the knights please email me. I am not saying who it is at the moment because there may be a genuine reason, but I was not born yesterday.

I don't know what to say, other than this is not good. I'm sorry to hear you got ripped off, Phil. You are quite generous, and the prices on you for sale items seem quite reasonable. I don't understand the warez mindset, and I probably never will. Thank goodness.

The "Warez Mindset" grew out of the anti-corporate mentality of the seventies and eighties counter-culture, back when hackers were romantic figures dodging corporate and government security to bring the Truth to the masses. They were viewed in much the same way as highwaymen were at the end of the 19th Century - as people attacking the Fat Cats, the nobles. The ones who screwed over the peasants were generally ignored, as were the ruthless murderers among their ranks; they were the "modern Robin Hood"'s and could do no wrong. That mentality is what backs the HackerZ and Warez Kitties - they only see themselves as attacking the greedy corporations, and don't realize they are ultimately hurting EVERYONE EXCEPT those "fatcats" who cut their losses by hosing US...

I feel bad when I install the same stuff on two machines (although in 12 days I lose my job and wipe it all clean) Ill kick his ass if you like Phil

It's not just my work but across the board.
Now this next bit is going to be like notifying that the post of executioner has become vacant. No one applies directly ... but notes are left where they may be found. :)
If anyone has information they can email me. It will be regarded in the strictest confidence.

I also think it's sad that this happens to you, because your pieces where axcellent and it's a really reasonable price for this high-standard. Hope you can find out from where it starts. Good luck. Robert (Sharkey)

I don't get it - why would someone buy just the templates? Do you sell them? I'm not confused about piracy, i'm confused on models vs templates. What good are the templates without the figure? Well, I don't need to understand to be sorry. Of all people, I think that you work the hardest to help us all. I hope it isn't someone here.

PhilC ( ) posted Thu, 22 March 2001 at 4:02 PM

As per above "k" emailed me and I am pleased to say that I have just received an email from freedrive saying that they have torched that site.
I am astute enough to know that we will never get them all but between us we can make a dent.

Hi Phil, I purchased your lingerinie pack about one week ago and it's worth every penny I paid for it. I love it and as all the others above I can't understand why people steal your work. They must be really limited in their mental abilities! Thank god there are a lot of people out there who appreciate your work! Don't let the bad guys harm your admirable creativity and talent. As soon as I am finished with my "lovers" series which uses your beautiful lingerie pack I'll post them to the forum. Promise! Phil - one of your namesakes ;o)))

Phil, first let me say that I have never met you. However, I am a great admirer of your work and of the generosity you have shown in this community. As such, I respect you for the artist and person you have proven yourself to be. I have purchased from you in the past and I am sure I will in the future. Having said that, to the matter at hand. Forgive me for asking for 100% clarity on this (Too little sleep again, I suppose). However, the nyms you mentioned in your opening post? Are these nyms of those who brought the thefts to your attention or are they the nyms of the thieves themselves? All three nyms are listed as current "members" of this community.

Because absolute proof is difficult enough in real life... and over the internet almost impossible, I chose my words with care. It was not they that brought this to my attention but others.

Billy, I would imagine, if I understand this correctly, that the person buying the templates may very likely have gotten the models through Warez and wanted the templates to make textures for the 'stolen' models--or this is the assumption. Correct me 'whoever' if I'm assuming wrong.

RadArt ( ) posted Thu, 22 March 2001 at 9:59 PM

Very, very sad indeed! You are one of my idols, I still worship that first pair of high heels I ever downloaded with your name on them, to me, you have always since been the shoe man of the forums, but you are also, so very, very much more!! Truly one of the greats! This is soo sad cause it's disrespectful to someone that truly cares and has done sooo much for all of us.

Wizzard ( ) posted Thu, 22 March 2001 at 10:22 PM

sad indeed... and PhilC has gone to the trouble even to set it up so those of us without a CC can get his neat stuff. Still saving up.. and will eventually start a mass purchasing thing... sigh.. I hope ye get this all sorted Phil.. it'd be a shame to lose you. Cheers my friend

Hi Folks! Justice always finds its equilibrium. Those rodents will get caught--just like the one that brazenly eluded me for nearly six weeks but finally fell for a classic trap baited with peanut butter. I'm letting it die slowly behind the garbage pail, to atone for all the aggravation it has caused me. Suggestions for likewise appropriately suitable punishments for these creeps once they are exposed are certainly welcome. Peter (Dr Zik)

Dendras ( ) posted Fri, 23 March 2001 at 12:42 PM

Phil, if I hear of anyone or any site involved in this crap, I will email you and personally hand you the matches and gasoline. And as to you Warez morons: Whenever you do this to one of us you're not ripping off some nameless, souless corporation.. yo're ripping off a living, breathing artist who is supporting themselves and their family with the files you rip off. This is low, kids, lower than you know.

To CharlieBrown: What can you expect? Look what's become acceptable behavior from our elected leaders. Does it surprise you that many folks thinks there's nothing wrong with stealing? Hell, they've been taught that "if it feels good, do it" and just twist the laws any way they can to excuse it. Stealing??? Isn't MURDER OK to.... (Mr. OJ)??? Sorry, I'm not outraged..... Not even surprised.
