You might have more luck at that site. People there are "font geeks" and can pretty much tell you the name of any font posted."It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
A good place to start. To be honest though, some of the larger companies actually have custom fonts designed just for their logo's, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case on something this big.
#3-6 (except for the Regatta) are actually logos. They're designed by an artist or design firm (usually), and may not be a font at all.
I'm hardly the UVmapping expert around here (done it twicet now..;) but if you have a good 'head on' shot, you may be able to use your pics to make a UVMap of the area in question, and get around it that way.
Final note- if you're too close to the original, you might be getting a nastygram from Cunard Lines, over copyright issues. So don't get too involved in accuracy here
#1 might be Crillee, possibly Impact. #2 could be any of a bunch of fonts. The Regatta shouldn't be hard to fake, and look for 'dingbats', I know there's a 'signal flag' font out there.
There are a Gazillion (that's a scientific term) font sites out there, both free and spendy. Acid Fonts, Fontilicious, 1001 fonts, just do a search, and watch your hard drive start to fill up (I finally quit around 3,000 or so..;) And NT/Win2k start messing up if you load more than 1,000 fonts in them- previous message is relevant only if you get hooked on font-ics..;) Have fun

Nera: http://www.nera.no/index.shtml Kelvin Hughes: http://www.kelvinhughes.com/kh/index.htm MTN: http://www.mtnsat.com/ The above links display the company logos and such. I had NO luck with image #4. I searched through scads of QM2 sites and pictures. I tried keyword searches combining QM2 with "radar", "satellite", "navigation", "UME", "UWE", and more. One image suggested it was an "air-con unit" (sic), but it doesn't seem right (however I have NO knowledge of such things). I now know more about the QM2 than ever before :) Hope it helps. And yes, i'd love a free copy when its modeled :) MCN

ITC offers a "Search by Sight" function that helps identify a font by picking its characteristics from a series of questions. It's not 100% reliable, but it will help you close in. Why not ask CUNARD?FYI: After answering 30 questions honestly (if you fudge and guess what a letter glyph might look like, a wrong guess ruins the whole process), I ended up with 35 fonts to compare "Queen Mary 2" to. It's a slow process, but a nice tutorial in font characteristics.
And it looks like it might be Gill Sans....
